Sounds like they can afford to lose to the Ville but would then have to win a couple in the ACC tourney. Lose any other games and odds are gonna be loooooong.

It depends on who those games are against. Their poor record against Q1 opponents is going to be hard to overcome with the UVA loss on the resume as well.

If they lose to the ville and beat an equivalent team in the ACC tournament, sure.

I think they're going to have to win out, including beating 'Ville as a quality win, and win at least a couple of games in the ACCT to have a chance to make the NCAAT. It's a very long shot.

The immediate game in front of us is a team that will be shooting 3's at us in very large volume all game long while we have no 3 point defense. Let's somehow get past ND first. That's not going to happen easily.

Right. We have a number of not very good teams in front of us now, meaning they're likely to lose some games before the season ends.

If we don't, we'll pass those teams, and if we do what you described we should be in comfortably.

The 7 teams Lunardi has in front of Pitt mostly all have tough games this weekend. So if Pitt can handle their business at Notre Dame today they gotta chance to probably bump up a few spots come early next week going into the home game with Georgia Tech.

Notre Dame actually doesn't normally shoot a lot of threes. They are 192nd in the percentage of their shots that are threes (we are 141st, by way of comparison).

Let's see if they change that today, or if they just do what they do.

It doesn't matter now. The ND game was a must win against a poor opponent. We lost and let them score 46 in the second half while getting outrebounded again, especially on the defensive end. Our assists disappeared after the first couple of minutes. I'm not delusional to think Pitt is a NCAAT team. They've been getting worse as a team for the second half of the season.

How are we going to get to 12 wins in the conference? I'm sorry, but I don't see it. I'm just being realistic. I know that offends some Pitt fans.
