has us a #9 against St. Joes and Nova next. Would love that.

I wouldn't.

At this stage, I'm thinking along the line of winning 3/4 straight and NOT limping in. Why not, there are all winnable so let's win them and get a 6/7 seed.

Maybe Jamie could convince the team that it's actually MSG and not Barclays. That'd be an automatic trip to the Sweet 16.

Meh. Sending Nova home would be nice, but there's nothing that will ever make me feel better about that game.
Beating them while they are the #1 seed would help a lot. We would not have beaten UNC in the Final 4.

I don't know. I think Pitt could have played with anyone that year. UNC was loaded, but I wouldn't have counted out that Pitt team.
I dunno..
We got tested in the first two games to the limit.

UNC just demolished everyone that tournament as Danny Green became a star to compliment Hansborough, Ellington, and Ty Lawson.

Their closest game that tournament was 12 points.

I personally think Pitt was "tested" because they were playing tight. I think they were more worried about getting bounced early than simply playing. I don't think this would have been an issue against UNC because all the pundits would have expected them to lose, thus the team would have come out with something to prove. Now I have no data to back my opinion, it's simply how I felt and still feel to this day.

I think those games were tighter because we weren't substantially better than Xavier or clearly not better than Nova, who beat us a couple times that same season.
Maybe "played tight" against ETSU because of over-looking them, is just as likely.

we could have lost any of the 3 prior including ETSU. Fields still wasn't 100%, Dixons couldn't shoot, and Biggs underachieved. I think we would have lost to UNC, but that's on paper. Blair and Young carried us down the stretch.

Wasn't Lawson fighting a bad toe in that tourney run? I think Blair would have agitated Hansborough just enough to make things interesting.

I disagree, oh Big-Toothed Fish. They wouldn't have handled #45 in the post. He had a 15 & 20 game in Dec., 2007, vs. a Duke team that was similar to the typical Roy Williams teams. That Pitt team wasn't afraid of anyone...beat UCONN twice in 8 days. I think we might have beaten UNC.

Sorry fellas, but UNC beats us. On a side note, we were very close to landing James Harden. If he were on our team, then we win it all.
