Im making a prediction. Jake and Chris just tweeted Hugley is visiting Pitt this weekend, 3rd unofficial visit to Pitt. If the handler comes in with him, Pitt lock. This is the anti Wahab right here from what I read today. Also from someones name I wont mention because I'll get attacked, Hugleys rating has also gone up as predicted. Rivals now has him in the top 150. 247, after I called them out LOL, now has the misspelled "Hughley" rated 161 nationally at 260lbs. Only problem is, they spelled his name wrong. Its Hugley. I also predict Hugley not only commits to Pitt, I also predict he easily makes it in the final top 100 rankings. Ok, I just crossed over what someone else said that getting him wont be easy, but with 3 visits at every acc game, I feel Pitt comfortably is way out in front anf will get him. Just my 2 cents

Can he reclassify to 2019? It is a bigger deal if he is able to.

I dont have a clue and wouldnt even guess. I dont even know the requirements to be eligible for that. I think each school and state is different requirements. Its like, how do homeschooled kids get into college? They do, and they have zero credits, only the act and sat. I would guess anyone with strong grades has a chance and potentially eligible. Smart kids skip high school grades. About 25 years ago i met a kid going to Harvard at a summer school program with a 1580 sat and he did 2 years of high school. Thats why I take reclassification kind of with a grain of salt guaranteeing one way or another. A kid with great grades with a ride to a school like stanford should easily be able to reclassify especially with AP and summer classes if even needed.

From what I've heard, Hugley doesn't want to reclassify.

He wants the extra high school year to work on reshaping his body and his game. He may still be growing in height, but he definitely is working to build muscle and reduce body fat.

Thanks Harve. I agree he needs another high school year as opposed to Dickinson who I think is more advanced. Do you know if he is eligible, however? Why not come to Pitt and redshirt early to work on conditioning and training. If he likes Pitt, use our training staff instead of a high school staff. That would serve him well and help him improve faster.

I have closely followed this kids recruitment for several months now. I have to agree with you, his recruitment's looking extemely promising right now. And he will continue his climb into the top 100.

I really like this players upside.

Really, after you called them out? Interesting  I'm going to have to start charging you royalty fees.

Hugley has been to Pitt, without commiting, probably more than our 2018 trio of commits of X, Trey and Toney haha.

He's been blowing up too and getting the kid on campus is always a positive. Now let's get Toney back, regroup and re-focus for Saturday and beat Syracuse!

I like Hugley a lot. I see a little Barkley in him...good with his back to the basket, willing to scrap for rebounds but can also handle the ball well and hit the occasional outside shot as well. Similar size too. Seems like a good kid from the few interviews I've seen.

I actually think Hugley is more advanced than Dickinson.
Dickinson's rating is solely based on his huge huge upside.
Did you watch the nationally televised Dematha game?

He can work on reshaping his body and game while playing here. He would still be a major upgrade for us while he does it.

Ain’t that the truth. My lord, surely with all of his time spent here, he has learned about our strength and conditioning program.

Drumgoole doesn’t have an offer yet so he to receive one, don’t know when he is going to get one

The basketball and football board couldnt be more polar on optimism. I like the optimitic approach more.

Bring him, I dont care if it 2020 or not, hope we get him and Dickinson. We need it, Hugley can be an awesome PF.

1 game means little. What about all the other games he was putting up double doubles? Do you trust Corey Evans? Rivals.com article today from Corey Evans said Dickinson could step foot on college tommorow and is read to play immediatley. Why did he say this? Because he is 7'2 and outside 1 game against the number 1 team in the country with a top 5 nba pick he played against, he posts double doubles all and would substantially impact the defense. Top 5 talent Stewart shot horribly against Dickinson.

Just watching his movements. His ceiling is super high no doubt.
His overall coordination is what I was paying attention to.
A 7 footer posting double doubles means nothing to me.
I'm not the only one who shares this sentiment.
It's been shared by many others on this board.
I'd be thrilled to get him though obviously.

Steven Adams wasn’t coordinated at all,he was just stronger than everyone else and he turned out pretty good, once a kid gets in the system he will learn to get better

How many games have you watched? He just visited Kentucky and Kentucky fans are begging for him to commit on twitter

Pitts defense the year before Adams arrived was ranked 151st in the country. That ranking with Adams rose to 21st best in the nation with 1 new player added, a 7 footer. Those ranking were taken from pomeroy which is the top efficiency ranking for basketball

I don't think u get what I'm saying.
He's a huge take, a giant priority.
I'm saying he still needs tons of work and he'll most likely be really great.
His upside is huge.
I just don't think he's personally developed as much as some people think he is, as of right now.
Time will tell about how quickly he develops and plays against college kids.
It's my opinion of only right now.
We will see, time will tell. I'm basing this on movement, and what I saw. And yes I only watched one game. But I wasn't focused on stats, just his movement.

What do you mean by coordinated? If you're implying that Adams was an awkward big who relied on being stronger than everyone else, then you must have watched a different player at Pitt. Adams' skills were raw across the board, but he was a very fluid athlete and was extremely coordinated for a 7 footer. I wouldn't even say his strength was his biggest asset in college, his quickness was. That's what allowed him to run the floor well, score in transition and impact the game defensively. We all remember how poor he was in half court sets. If he weren't coordinated, he wouldn't have been worth anything.

Dickinson looks more like grey as an athlete than he does Adam's right now. But better than Grey. Adams had raw athleticism for a guy his size

I watched 5 minutes of Dickinson and while he is a bit raw, its simple to tell that if he suited up for Pitt tomorrow, he'd only couple off the court due to fatigue or fouls. His best days are in the future but he is BY FAR better than anything we have right now.

I think there's question marks with all 3 players: Dickinson (athleticism), Hugley (conditioning) & Coulibaly (PF or C). But, with that being said, I would take 2 out of the 3 in a heartbeat. Personally, I would prefer Dickinson/Coulibaly.

I've never seen the kid play so this isn't a comment on him necessarily, but a 7'2 high school kid posting double doubles isn't anything to write home about, it's exactly what you should expect. Kids that tall should average a double double just by standing there getting balls that come their way and on the offensive end laying them into the basket.

I don't know if Calipari offered him yet, but , if he does we might as well forget about him. We are losing kids to Illinois and Georgetown, if the bluebloods get involved, we need to stop wasting our time and resources on the kid.

I think it's comical all these "experts" on the Lair are sure Dickinson sucks from watching a single game. Even a few folks I respect are in on it.

It's amazing how far this site has fallen off in the last 10yrs. Honestly - this might have been the best free basketball board on the internet a decade ago. Wow have things changed.

Keep doing your "upbeat thing" Xwin - many like me appreciate it.

Agreed. Adams moved more like a 6'6" wing than a 7 footer. Shame he didn't stay another year.
