Oh. My. God.Jobs being filled as Barnes snoozes. Oh for the good old days of SP.
Pitt's job has been open for 30 hours.Because jobs are being filled and Pitt is not acting. Dumb post.
As late as last week, Barnes was in favor of keeping Jamie. He did not push him out... he made no attempt to push him out.30 hours? Are you *THAT* dense? Barnes started pushing Dixon out months ago. A good AD would have had a replacement lined up (and one that would say yes).

When Jamie made it clear that he WANTED to leave... Barnes accommodated him... as an good employer would.
Jamie left Pitt. Get that into your thick skulls, people. Jamie decided the day that the TCU job became open that he wanted it. Barnes' only options were to hold Jamie hostage or let him go.
Immediately after the game against Wisconsin on Friday, Barnes AGAIN re-iterated that he wanted Jamie back.
Jamie WANTED to leave. Nobody forced him out. If he wanted to still be Pitt's head coach, he would be.
Barnes has had less than 2 days to search for a head coach. He's going about it properly. Just because Richie Walsh puked all over himself with a fake story doesn't mean you should believe it.
And Johnny freaking Dawkins getting a job at a dreg of a program like UCF has *ZERO* impact on the Pitt coaching search at all.... and reflects NOTHING about our search.
I like Jamie too, fredact. But he left. He wasn't pushed out. You need to reconcile yourself with that FACT and understand that Barnes was put into this situation by Jamie, not the other way around.
The reality is that Jamie Dixon would still be Pitt's head coach if he wanted to be.Let's just say, your understanding of those facts is incorrect. What was said publicly is not very close to the reality.

The OP suggested Kevin Stallings in another thread. A guy who Vandy may fire. He has no clue what he is talking about.Oh. My. God.

Johnny Dawkins wasn't even in the Top 50 choices for Pitt and Barnes.
Please tell me you were being sarcastic.
The Pitt job has been open for 30 hours. Barnes isn't "snoozing"... and he certainly did not lose out on Johnny freaking Dawkins.

Have any of the Duke guys really worked out in a major way? Amaker has had his moments, but I can't call him a big success. Quinn Snyder was a disaster at Missouri. None of the rest have become elite coaches either.Anyone pining over Dawkins must have never watched his teams play.
Why is it obvious? No one has said that Barnes wanted Jaime to leave except uninformed internet posters. If Barnes wanted Jaime to leave, there would not be a large buyout paid by TCU. Sometimes I wonder where all this crap comes from. Do you all just make stuff up and post it on a board and then later can claim it as a fact because it is on the Internet.Yeah, if Jamie really wanted to be Pitt's head coach he would be. However, I think it's fairly obvious that leaving is the decision that Barnes wanted from Jamie. I wouldn't say Jamie was pushed out, but I think its fair to say he was steered in that direction.

geez, glad I held off on that "how bout Johnny Dawkins" joke post I was thinking about yesterday...Jobs being filled as Barnes snoozes. Oh for the good old days of SP.

Snyder has turned into a pretty darn good NBA HC.Have any of the Duke guys really worked out in a major way? Amaker has had his moments, but I can't call him a big success. Quinn Snyder was a disaster at Missouri. None of the rest have become elite coaches either.
