This actually is very simple roughly 1.5 years in-

Narduzzi's results are better than Walt, DW, Fraud and Chryst through the same stages of their time as head coach.

You can make the argument that Narduzzi has produced better results playing a much more difficult schedule as well.

Marshall made halftime adjustments! I know this since I watched each painful minute of the second half until the Weah ( holly crap I have the ball) catch.

In my opinion the coaching situation hasn't improved since WannyBall. The same stuff ( no meaningful gameplan adjs) keeps happening where we seem to be outcoached in the 2nd half almost every game.

So with all this coaching ins an outs what did we actually gain??
I thought with the change to Narduzzi we'd see a quantum leap in gameday planning/ performance/ adjustments especially on D. I don't see any improvement!

Fyi don't say recruiting because Wanny recruited really good and put a lot of players in the NFL! He had other weaknesses but in the end had winning seasons!

College football is very fluid. One thing that Narduzzi has is he knows what he wants. He also knows he is building the program on tough defense with athleticism and trench play. Pitt has some very good players in the wings here. This time next year, the D will be a fun group to watch. Canada will have to develop the QB's for Pitt. Everything else is will be good enough to win.

I keep hearing the lack of talent excuse for the reason our defense stinks.
Go read other message boards who's teams stink. Every fan bases uses the lack of talent excuse.

Some fans cannot grasp the fact good coaching can level the playing field if you are less talented.

My point is this defense should not be this bad. Considering we have 8 or 9 starters back from last years team who finished middle of the pact in the NCAA.

You would think a 2nd year in the system, kids getting bigger and stronger a year later. With the SC program in the off season. This defense should at the very least. Finish again in the middle. Instead, we have seen major regression. To the point we were 2nd to last 127 out of 128th. I have never seen a defense regress like that with 8 or 9 starters returning.....never!

When you see players taking bad angles, using bad techniques, looking lost in coverage. That tells me they are not taking to the coaching they are receiving. Which its on the coach who gets paid anywhere from 250000 to 50000 to make sure this does not happen week to week.

I really hope Narduzzi has his defensive coordinator and his defensive backs coach under a microscope. I think both coaches have a lot to prove the remaining games.

We've played some really good offenses and they have been matchup nightmares for us. We also lost a very good player in Hendrix. And I have no doubt had Hamlin not got hurt he would have started. Almost anytime we played a good offense last year they torched us. Much of the same this season.

PN system is very similar to a offense like TG or rich rod's. Those offenses require a QB who can run like a RB and throw decent as well. PN defense require's NFL caliber CB's and at least a decent pass rush. Its my one complaint on PN is he didn't recognize these guys couldn't play this system before the year and devised a D where the subpar secondary wouldn't be the focal point of the D. Now no system is going to make this secondary good. But one where they aren't required to cover one on one all day would help make them less noticeable.
