JUCO QB - preferred walk on commits

Go back to your Ped St board.

Is this directed at me? If so you’re out of your mind.

Forgot the possibility of MacVitttie switching positions - so if he does maybe nobody leaves. But carrying 5 QBs seems unlikely.

And regardless I don’t think It’s that far fetched of a thought that DiNucci or MacVittie could transfer. Maybe likely wasn’t the correct word to use.

Actually, 4 scholarship QBs and a walkon to make 5 is perfect. They've had low numbers at QB for years.

DiNucci isn’t going anywhere.

Pickett -> DiNucci - Zelinski -> Patti

MacVittie either leaves or switches to TE/H-Back.

How good could a juco QB be if he's settling for walk-on status? He could have done that out of high school.

Supposedly someone is leaving is what I hear.
Well, if that "someone leaving that you hear" happens to be DiNucci, then we are in pretty big depth trouble. We'd have Pickett starting, a true freshman Patti as back-up, MacVittie in another position that isn't QB, then this walk-on as 3rd QB. Pretty scary depth, especially the amount of times Pickett may run.

Not directed at you.

Completely agree.

Plus, honestly, I think DiNucci makes a very good back-up. Not a good starter, but totally good back-up.

IUP??? Wasn't he going Ivy until Pitt offered?

He obviously isn't a future pro, so why would he pass on a Pitt degree in exchange
for a degree from IUP?...especially when he could have originally gotten an
Ivy League degree. If anything, why not transfer to Ivy now. He obvioulsy is
brighter than the typical player.

That's not scary. That's perfect. How o do you use 3 in one season.keeping Dinucci would be great ,Pickett starts , dinuci backs up and Macvittie transfers. I always stated in past post that he was a reach because of 1 year @ qb though most posted he would be great because of his high school.
Pitt is really lacking in the QB position and needs to recruit the position better, however it never will get that way if you keep bringing in transfers and Jucos to start.
Pitt offered three-star quarterback Taisun Phommachahn from Connecticut get him and we have (3) good qb's for each year (2017,2018,2019) to set up the future.
Go with the young qbs. if i'm not mistaken for the record several teams bet Pit this year with Freshman qb''s and one (PICKETT) beat Miami.

There's another QB in town who was just a one-year starter in high school. Guy named Roethlisberger. I'm sure you've heard of him. I figure that if MacVittie transfers, he could become the next Flacco.
