judson and reeves

What position does Judson play? RB seems like his best position, but the spot is crowded, and now with Sibley on board, we've got a stud RB in the class. I've heard him mentioned at CB. But at 5'9" and a big body, he is not the typical CB that PN looks for, which is long (6'0" or taller). He's built like a LBer, but again, who ever heard of a 5'9" LBer?

He's fast and talented and I'd love to get him, and think they'll find a spot for him, but I'm just wondering where he'll land position-wise.

Rb and if that doesn't work, slot wr.

Judson, Proctor, Garbutt, and Reaves could completely turn thus class around.

Sibley is a solid (nowhere near a stud with only really offers from us, UK, and Akron) prospect but he isn't near the kind of prospect who would push Judson away from the position. Judson is certainly more sought after, but neither is probably head and shoulders above the other to push the other to another position when they get here.

Think with Judson there is a similar recruiting approach to Garbutt. They are both guys with top end skills and potential. With players that can run and have the quickness and athletic ability that they do, the position thing will sort itself out.

The important thing is to get them to sign with Pitt in Feb. Both guys will be an overall speed upgrade - something that PN knows he must improve on across the entire roster to have a better chance to win consistently in the ACC - regardless of the position they ultimately play.

Yeah no negative slant there. Maybe you're really Sam Werner

The guy was rated as the #172 player overall by ESPN and #242 by 247.

He didn't have either. It is very well documented that he decommitted from OSU because they would no longer offer him a full scholarship and just the opportunity to greyshirt. They were clearly pushing him out. Michigan offered him last year after Ohio State and Kentucky did and he no longer was offered or pursued. He was still a good get for Pitt.

Jesus, some of you are so freaking self conscious.

Sibley certainly looks like an Ollison type guy. I really think in a few years, we will have so many guys taking snaps on offense with the success of Whitehead doing it that it will be a real team effort unless we have someone emerge as just a Heisman type back

Agreed. Unless someone like James Conner emerges or a recruit like Leonard Fournette is signed, lots of solid guys with potential will battle it out.

And I would love for Conner to run for 2000 yards and be a total beast this year. But... come on, that is like getting Glasnow's cooperstown plaque ready now. The guy is coming off cancer and a serious knee injury. I mean... think of that... just extraordinary! So, I think a committee approach will be needed unless James just shows he is back and wont get off the field.

It is nice to have so many decent recruits at RB, one is bound to emerge as the guy like Ollison did last year. I am ok with a four star guy transferring if it doesnt work out that they are the man. I think Chryst and Narduzzi did a good job of trying to see who is the hot back and who is performing well. We spread out the carries.

Agreed. Anything beyond Conner being good as part of a committee is a bonus IMO. I don't put it past him to come back and be great again, but we can't count on it. At a minimum we will need Ollison to be very good again.

You're a nut. This Web site which you claim is the only one that matters, list him as having offers from both. How is that self conscious? It isn't the least bit self conscious, if anything it's the exact opposite, it's conscious of others

1. I didn't claim only one website matters. You are, again, lying.

2. Did you follow his recruitment at all?

Happy to have Sibley, but it is no secret what happened with OSU or that Michigan hasn't recruited him for months, just like they did to numerous prospects in the last cycle who they offered early. We 100% would not have him if he still had a full offer from Ohio State. Any reasonable and informed person would tell you that, including Chris Peak, who still runs a business that has to somewhat pander to irrational homers.

Lol. You do realize even if you are asked to greyshirt, it's still a full scholarship offer, you just have to start a semester later.

There is no such thing as partial scholarship in FBS football. You sound like an idiot when you say he wasn't offered a full scholarship.

They still wanted him, but they are putting together an all time class, and don't have a full allotment this year, thus the greyshirt

Hah. Yes, I am aware that it is a delayed full scholarship or an offer where they expect you to pay for a semester (or two if you enroll in the summer) of school. And everyone is aware that schools use that tactic to push kids out who are not priorities. I can't believe some of yall are that self conscious about a Pitt recruit you can't admit what obviously happened with him at OSU. They just straight up recruited over him and encouraged him to find an immediate scholarship elsewhere when they got a better RB prospect and are still recruiting other RB prospects. Even he admitted it and said he wouldn't have looked around if they didn't tell him his only option was a greyshirt. They will still sign at least 20 kids and probably get near 25.

You sound like an unreasonable idiot if you can't admit what was happening.

From what I've read, OSU was banking on the fact that Sibley committing early and that he was telling everyone in the world that OSU was his dream, which made him an easy target for a gray shirt when they don't have a ton of scholarships to offer. (Note: PSU used to do this with a lot with kids that "bleed" blue and white.) That said, they appear to be looking for "bigger" fish but I really don't know what that means other than they have a commit from a Dobbins kid (who Pitt didn't offer). From where I sit, Sibley is more of a straight ahead runner so I don't know how he fits in their offense but Sibley is a hair bigger than Dobbins.

Just guessing that Urb knows what he wants.

Except they will end up offering up close to a full allotment and they are still recruiting RBs, including Dobbins who is a much higher level and sought after prospect.

Just because OSU pushed him away and we were a 2nd choice doesn't mean it isn't really good for us to get him. However, the biggest point of this discussion is that neither of these RBs are going to push the other out of a chance at the position. They both are good prospects with potential to be good RBs and both will get a shot, if Pitt ends up with both of them in February.

this thread is not about sibley. its about judson and reeves, lets get back on track.
Agreed. Judson is clearly talented enough to get at least the same shot as Sibley at RB and hopefully we can end up with both (and Reeves) in February.

The kid is from Ohio and had been committed to tO$U for a long time. Anyone should be able to figure out not many schools are wasting time recruiting the kid.

That said, when Sibley decided to walk away from Ohio State, he had scholarship offers from several schools, including Pitt, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Missouri, Virginia, Akron and Toledo.

Except that article is equating interest with offers. It is well documented across a multitude of sites he did not have those offers. Michigan State is by far the best example. Here is an article about them offering another Akron RB instead of Sibley when he unofficially visited and was looking for other options. Any number of people, including Chris Peak would tell you that article and you are completely wrong.

To Pittman: I agree with your reasons for wanting to sign Judson, but while the "position thing will sort it self out" view works for many players, Judson's height seriously limits his options.

At 6'2", Zeise had many position options; he started at WR, it was thought by many that he'd eventually wind up at safety, but instead gets moved at LB (where it appears he will be successful). He had multiple position options, and he got moved to a place where he may be most successful, and where it helps the team.

But at 5'9", where else but RB could Judson play? He is a QB in HS, but no college coach wants a 5'9" QB, so that is out. He's built like a LB, but again, will he be considered there due to his height? CB is a possibility, but Narduzzi wants his guys to be taller at that position. He's after Wade at that height, but I think he is making an exception only because he has elite skills at the position.

So, RB seems to be it. Slot receiver maybe, but we have no idea if he can catch. Speed is great -bring it on -- but its not everything.

You couldn't be more wrong about his height seriously limiting his options. The ones that count, the coaches have spoken loud and clear. Coaches feel strongly that he will be a player at the next level.

Running back, wide receiver or safety.

Personally, he looks a Bob Sanders waiting to happen.

Yeah, a local reporter writing an article full of quotes probably had no clue what he's talking about. I'm sure at this point you have a better better idea of Todd's options than Todd.

Why don't you call or email the author find out why his article is inaccurate? His number is at the bottom. Better yet, email him and post his reply here.

Or maybe someone with direct access to coaches knows more than you. Nah, that couldn't be the case.

I been drinking, so I wanna make sure I get this straight. Sibley stinks and nobody else wanted him. Reeves stinks because only Scout gave him 4*.

This recruiting class stinks!!!

And Judson is ranked #170 by Rivals and #285 by ESPN. Neither is a sure thing that would push the other off the position. They both will get a chance at RB and probably both play there longterm.
We don't have Judson's style back on the current roster. He would be a big get as the "home run" threat.

Nothing of the sort. Neither RB is so good they will make it so the other is immediately moved to another position.

No his listing (not a quote) directly contradicts every other quote, site, and article, including the one you are posting on.

Wait to see how many RBs and players OSU takes. This isn't a knock on him, but it is reality.

He doesn't have a Michigan offer. Same as they did last year's class with numerous recruits. They offered and then stopped recruiting and weren't interested when he dropped from OSU because of the grayshirt offer.

He is still a good get for Pitt and we should be happy to have him and hope to get Judson. Not sure why some of you get so caught up and think the truth is a slight, just because other top schools choose to pursue higher level prospects. That is the reality for us. Or coaches will try to get some guys that are very high end and until the program really produces top results we will have to get good results and have our coaches produce better with them. I have faith we can get there.
