Julius Page

My team has me thinking a lot about Pitt hoops of the past and specifically how much I loved Julius....I want to ask the entire board this question...what is the single best game you can remember Julius Page playing while at Pitt?

Offensively it was a game vs Syracuse at the Pete. Think he scored 26, if I recall?

Of course, as an individual play that was something emblematic of Pitt's re-emergence as a major player in the Big East and D-I hoops in general, there was this:

I still get a smile on my face every time I see a video of that play. :) He is WAYYYYYY up there!!!

Before he suffered that bad ankle sprain, JP had some of the best hops I've ever seen. And he was an absolute demon as a defender with his combination of quickness and athleticism in addition to that jumping ability. A great Panther for sure.

He is my favorite radio personality in Pittsburgh by far. He has a weekly segment on 93.7 that likely just aired but I missed it. He should have his own show. He’s that good...and yes he blows Curtis away as a radio personality. He should be on the Pitt broadcast team.

I need to find some Pitt hoops early 2000s memorabilia!!! If any one has any let me know :)

Well this covers all bases, I think. Early 2000’s AND Julius Page!

Yes, it’s a Julius Page nutcracker! :) Julius most definitely did crack some nuts in his days as a Panther for sure. A treasured item in my Pitt collection.

It was given to me as a gift by a very dear friend and great Pitt fan who passed away far too young. No idea where he found it. Maybe others on this site have one and would know?

wow!!! That is amazing

The thing about Page on his talk show segment 93.7 Fan........he combines adult maturity with an ability to go young with his descriptive comments. He is insightful and funny and I believe appeals to all age groups listening. That’s a good spot for him and he should have a bigger role in the broadcasts of Pitt basketball

The intramural game he played on a Sunday morning at Trees after we partied all night for his 25th birthday.
