What are your thoughts? I have some but want to keep them to myself for now and see what you all think.
It’s now or never for Phil. Actions will speak louder than words. What are your thoughts? I have some but want to keep them to myself for now and see what you all think.

My thoughts as well! Can he quickly read a defense and make his progression reads accordingly? I have my doubts after listening to his responses. He is not very articulate nor does he seem insightful. Came across as archetypical football jock. Six years of college ( ND annd BC to boot) and that was the best he could speak? I am worried whether he can learn the playbook.
Haven’t you ever watched the movie “Rain Man”?My thoughts as well! Can he quickly read a defense and make his progression reads accordingly? I have my doubts after listening to his responses.
Yes and let's hope he is Raymond!Haven’t you ever watched the movie “Rain Man”?
He is not very articulate nor does he seem insightful. Came across as archetypical football jock. Six years of college ( ND annd BC to boot) and that was the best he could speak? I am worried whether he can learn the playbook.
I know this board has their glasses on but I would rather have Minchey and me then the two we have. Just sayingI didn't want to say it but I was thinking the same thing. However, I doubt that matters much.
I know this board has their glasses on but I would rather have Minchey and me then the two we have. Just saying
Honestly, could Pitt have done any better ? Having him and Veilleux is a win .

It’s really sad that this is how you spend your holidays.I know this board has their glasses on but I would rather have Minchey and me then the two we have. Just saying
You're worried whether he can learn the playbook ...... Jurkovec has already proven that he can learn Cignetti's complex playbook very well and execute it better than Slovis did this season ..... Jurkovec has some deficiencies as a QB, but learning Cignetti's complex playbook is not one of them.He is not very articulate nor does he seem insightful. Came across as archetypical football jock. Six years of college ( ND annd BC to boot) and that was the best he could speak? I am worried whether he can learn the playbook.
He studied econ, it's all numbers bouncing around up there. He's not a wordsmith..... thats all I'll say
Are all fanbases this petty and miserable, or is this a uniquely Pitt thing? He is not very articulate nor does he seem insightful. Came across as archetypical football jock. Based on what ?Jurkovec is way better than Minchey Year 1. We can get Minchey in a few years
Exactly. He should really be coming in already knowing the playbook. Isn’t that the point of Pitt bringing him in? It’s also why I said they shouldn’t have a pretend competition. Unless another QB blows them away, commit to Jurkovec and allow him to develop timing and chemistry with the 1s all offseason. It’ll pay off Week 1.You're worried whether he can learn the playbook ...... I think you are overrating the intelligence it takes to learn a playbook. You ever listen to most football coaches talk? Do Pat Narduzzi or Dabo Swinney sound like they were honors students? These are the geniuses that design the playbooks. He is not very articulate nor does he seem insightful. Came across as archetypical football jock. Seems the ND and BC fans aren’t heart broken he’s goneAre all fanbases this petty and miserable, or is this a uniquely Pitt thing?
Seriously. I thought he was pretty articulate for a 21-22 year old. He sounds like he is from Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh accent simply doesn't make you sound like a genius. Are all fanbases this petty and miserable, or is this a uniquely Pitt thing?
The study of the retrospective predictionHe studied econ, it's all numbers bouncing around up there.
That's a reflex response. Lots of people said good riddance when Addison left and really didn't mean it.Seems the ND and BC fans aren’t heart broken he’s gone
Addison and Phil not even close in loss to a team. And Phil isn’t leaving BC for a multimillion dollar deal. He isn’t turning his back on a team that gave him everything to become the best wide receiver in college. Phil leaving isn’t a major loss to a terrible team like BC.That's a reflex response. Lots of people said good riddance when Addison left and really didn't mean it.
We shall see I disagree fully so we will see soon enoughI'm not sold on Jurkovec at all, but he and Veilleux as a package is certainly sufficient. I imagine it'll be a lot better than the Slovis/Patti competition.
Need to find them some receiver help. We didn't do Slovis any favors there this past season.
Same with slovis here ?That's a reflex response. Lots of people said good riddance when Addison left and really didn't mean it.
We are his only power 5 guarantee to start and the PSU transfer was NEVER starting ever at PSU , he might turn out good let’s hopeAddison and Phil not even close in loss to a team. Yes BC did wonders with him lolJurkovec is way better than Minchey Year 1. We can get Minchey in a few years
Talked to my PSU buddies about him. Sounds like he is a high-character guy that they think has real talent. On top of that, his girlfriend is apparently legendary. We are his only power 5 guarantee to start and the PSU transfer was NEVER starting ever at PSU , he might turn out good let’s hope
Is it really competing? I mean Phil is too connected to Cignetti to come here and sit the bench.Talked to my PSU buddies about him. Sounds like he is a high-character guy that they think has real talent. On top of that, his girlfriend is apparently legendary.
I give him a ton of credit given that he has to come in here and compete for a job, and he's willing to do it.
He could stand a little polish but I've heard much worse on the jock inarticulate scale. He is not very articulate nor does he seem insightful. Came across as archetypical football jock. Six years of college ( ND annd BC to boot) and that was the best he could speak? I am worried whether he can learn the playbook.
That's kind of what I meant about "competing". He sounds like a good kid who will be an asset. Is it really competing? I mean Phil is too connected to Cignetti to come here and sit the bench.
Low barHe could stand a little polish but I've heard much worse on the jock inarticulate scale.
With respect to the playbook, he will be fine. You can stop wringing your hands.
PJ is going to be better than Slovis.
There are a lot of people out there who are not articulate at all. I’m one of those people. I’m much better expressing my thoughts in writing than verbally. He could stand a little polish but I've heard much worse on the jock inarticulate scale.
