Looking through Holsteins stats through 2 games made me want to see how he shaped up in comparison to Phil through his half a season he played last year…..
Jurkovec season stats in 2023 (5 games)
- completed 57-of-112 passes (51%) for 818 yards and six touchdowns and three interceptions. Average of 7.3 yards per pass.
Holstein stats throught two games - completed 50-of-75 passes (66.6%) for 635 yards and six touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Passer rating of 158.45 through 2 games and averaging roughly 8.4 yards per pass.
Insane to see just how bad Phil actually was, and just how good Holstein has been in comparison, even with the terrible first half today. Ton of room for Holstein to grow and improve (especially with his decision making and taking care of the ball), but all the tools you want to see have been on display for him through his first 2 college games. Can’t wait to see him in the brawl next week and how he develops throughout the rest of the season. Hopefully the 4th quarter today is a sign of what he is capable of and what’s to come!
