Just curious... Does Canada coach the Bowl Game?

Canada wants that Pin Stripe Bowl on his resume.. Great Win is right Pitt79.Well, Win one for the Duzzer!
I will be surprised if he does. It makes absolutely 0 sense to retain him on Pitt's end and he would be much better off going full bore for LSU.
Keeping him for the bowl means that he isn't at least spending time trying to poach our recruits to go with him to LSU. Unlike Chaney last year.
Pickett would be the only risk and he can get him to LSU, if he wants him there and the kid wants to be there. That isn't going to change because he is coaching for us. LSU might not even make him an active recruiter before then, anyway, because we are in a dead period until 1/11.
I think he is coaching the bowl for two reasons:
1. Narduzzi wants that 9th win... badly.
2. I suspect Narduzzi is going to hire Tim Salem to replace Canada. And Narduzzi wants Canada working with Salem for another month. Picking his brain.
LSU is not paying him this type of money to hang out at Pitt.. Pitt would expect a hire to be at Pitt ASAP as well..
Point #2 I can buy. That is a good point for Pitt wanting to keep him. I still don't understand why Canada/LSU would agree to it. It doesn't benefit him at all.
Maybe Canada insisted on it?
Just like when Narduzzi was hired by Pitt, but insisted on being able to coach MSU in the Cotton Bowl..
They wanted MacVittie last year... and made a late push to flip him. They might want to get him to transfer.
As if the NCAA ever enforces anything like this. This is the sport where coaches hire the parents of kids they want to sign.
