You're absolutely right. We've been passed by so many schools and it is ALL because of recruiting whiffs. Do you think we'll every be back under Jamie again? I do not.
This. We rarely sniff a national recruit out of state.
We concentrate most of our efforts in Indiana, Ohio, & Illinois.
Lucky for us that happens to be a hot bed for great basketball.
It's also why Purdue rarely sees any success in football.
Not enough local talent that we can keep to offset the recruits that go to OSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, etc.
We get slim pickings and are forced south into a recruiting area sought nationally by all the big boys.
Recipe for disaster.
and teh 2017 class in Indiana is a good one. Purdue needs two of them and this year should help that happen
I don't either, the last 5 years were very sub par teams and the results proved that, I believe if things don't turn around this year JD is gone, I want the Pitt program to win games and championships even if Peewee Herman was HC
Pitt has 2 superstar-type players in Young and Artis. That's a pretty good start. Honestly, we haven't had many scoring duos better than those 2.
Robinson is playing well, shooting well, being more aggressive. That's 3 high level players.
If we can get contributions from the supporting cast, I think we can be VERY good.
I picked this team 5th in the ACC and nothing has changed my mind so far.
Purdue is a FF caliber team and we would have beaten them if not for Cline going off. We played them even until that.
I totally agree we need to recruit better but we have really talented players on this team. 350 D1 teams would be foaming at the mouth to have Young and Artis.

I'm curious to hear your definition of turn around.
And you're free to believe whatever you wish but there's a better chance of you coaching the team next year than Dixon getting fired after this year.
