Capel has stunk here. He will probably be fired. I think he is a good, likable guy but he has massively failed here for a variety of reasons.
What I won't be doing is simping for him 4 years from now after he gets fired. Also, the reasons you hate Capel so much more than Stallings have become pretty transparent from reading your comments recently.
It makes me laugh how people literally hate both Stallings and Capel. They’re both horrible human beings , scum , worthless , thieves and so on . What they’re is bb coaches who failed to win bb games at Pitt . The big question is when do we get to hate the next coach !

If Pitt wasn’t so cheap no one would’ve ever known or cared that a coach tried to help his players get better . If he’d have won we’d have never heard of these violations nor would we care one bit . Dont you know cheating in college athletics is ok as long as you win .

Sure but I didn't expect Pitt to win this. We're going to win 6 or 7 ACC games. Nothing really changes with this loss. Whether 6 or 7 is enough for Capel to stay isn't my decision. It also goes without saying that Horton has played 2 basketball games in 11 months. Its going to take him a couple weeks to get back into it. Not that he is the key to everything but we will be better when he regains his form.

Ithiel Horton isn’t good at basketball, he doesn’t do anything but hoist 3’s, he can’t defend, can’t facilitate, whines and complains the moment something doesn’t go his way, just stop it
Except Pitt will have one less win because BC is one of the few teams as bad as Pitt. If they end up with 5 wins this effort will have a lot to do with it.
I know I witnessed one occasion where he made no, and I truly mean no, effort to get back on defense. Stood motionless and watched everyone else run the other way.

He is an average ACC guard taking PT from a average PSAC guard (Jeffress). That is a massive upgrade
Jeffress is best perimeter defender, Horton you gain maybe 1 or 2 points a game, MAYBE. And thats being nice.
He would have needed to get better while he wasn't playing for him to be an average ACC guard.
That seems unlikely.
At least one can't blame this loss on him this time. We can be as bad without Jeffress as we can be with him it would seem.
We have 3 ACC wins so far. Where are the other 3 or 4 wins? Seriously. I don't see more than 1 more ACC win. Maybe VT.
Yeah, I don't get the fascination with Horton as somebody who can add points or help us win. He may give up more than he scores on many nights. He's a liability on defense and inconsistent on offense.
Jeffress's defense is so overrated. He is literally a 0 on offense. If he scores 0 and gives up 8, that's a -8. Horton has the POTENTIAL to score 15 or 20 and really help us win a game. He isn't going to give up 25 in the same game.
