Watched the piaa aa & aaa finals yesterday. it didn't seem like any of the top wrestlers were going to Pitt.they are going to psu. nc state, virginia tech, virginia, bucknell, arizona st. iowa, wvu... wtf?? we cant get any of these pa wrestlers? something isn't right!! we could have a top ranked just with pa wrestlers

If you remember, he was an assistant here before. Beyond that, he and Coach Kocher are very close. If he wanted to be here, that's one hell of a foot in the door.

Given that Headlee has more collegiate coaching experience and that the clamor once Wilps left was for an assistant in the lower weights - so that the staff was better balanced - I don't really see any point of contention.

We should have a 2x Ohio state champion by the end of the next week in Eli Siepel from 2015 (If he does it, he'll be only the third Pitt recruit to win 2 state titles in Ohio (M. Thomusseit, Mengerink)). Jake Wentzel won a PA state championship yesterday from 2016. Pletcher, who Pitt stands well with for 2016, was upset in a bid for his third straight state title.

We can do better - a strong finish today and in St. Louis would go a long way in helping towards achieving that.

no i didn't mean a point of comtention just haven't heard alot about recruiting. is wentzel a pitt recruit? and pletcher would be a great get! just like to see Pitt get to the top of the acc. maybe put a little of the new acc money in to the wrestling team also. we could be really good

Yes, he and Austin Bell (of Belle Vernon) are commits in the Class of 2016. Wentzel wrestles with Team Nauman, which is a name any Pitt Wrestling fan is familiar with. Pletcher would be great. I also wouldn't write them off for a couple other guys who won states in the junior classes and below.

I'm with you - the ACC should be theirs. It's been a weird year - from not being able to hold the Blue/Gold due to injuries, to beating #10 Edinboro in their house, to losing Bright, to Max being #1 in the country, to losing to every other ranked team we faced. The injury bug has taken its fair share of bites. Our (redshirt) freshman have not grown at a rapid rate. That said, we do have three potential conference champs, a strong chance to up our All-American total from last year, and a decent chance we have a NCAA finalist.

Today is very important. Tech has taken hits at 149 & HWT they weren't counting on. We need some more though.

I,m sorry I am not familiar with team nauman I,m familiar with young guns. I,m a pitt grad and live in tyrone. Have always followed pitt wrestling but more seriously the last 3-4 years. Follow high school wrestling during the year have 2 good friends who were state champs in late 60,s and seventies coach bubb was the head coach at tyrone before moving on to clarion when I was in high school anyways love wrestling and hop to see Pitt continue to do well htp

Young guns is run by UPJ assistant Jody Stritmatter....

He's a bigger bud with Cael Sandrerson than anyone connected with Pitt. I may have heard incorrectly but my understanding is most of that great Franklin Regional team works with Young Guns and I don't think Pitt has sniffed any of them from this senior class that is outstanding. Mikey up in a couple minutes.
