KDKA TV news is pretty funny last evening .....................

Huh? I watched channel 2 at both 6 and 11 and the number one sports story both times, ahead of both the Pirates and the Stillers, was Conner's injury. I'm not sure what else you could expect, unless you are delusional enough to think that the story should have led the whole newscast and not just the sports.

KDKA TV appeals to the septagenarians who are still looking for Patty and Bill.

May they rest in peace.
None of the Pittsburgh stations give much attention to Pitt, maybe just a final score, but nothing else. And Other than pregame 93.7 the fan doesn't give them any air time either and that's home of Pitt and the Pirates

Yeah I don't know what these guys smoke when they watch TV. KDKA was Channel 2. They led off the sports with Conner's injury. Maybe they didn't lead off the newscast with it, but hey. Some people on here are really, really confused.

This is TRUE, a sports injury is only important enough to lead the SPORTS SEGMENT, not the whole newscast.

In all honesty, I doubt if Crosby, Roethlisberger or McCutcheon where injured that it would lead the news segment?

While I don't think for a moment that Conner's injury should have received any more attention that it got, don't forget that when Ben Roethlisberger had his motorcycle accident, at least two stations broke into regular programing to report the story. At least one newscast stayed on the air the rest of the day to provide updates.

Super Bowl winning QB, a Steeler, I mean not questioning the worth of one individual over the other, but it is like an actor in an A&E Series getting busted for heroin versus say, Ben Affleck. One definitely will be headline news over the other.

Ben was in the hospital, JC was on the sidelines dancing around. People that Ben was going to die, Conner's own coach didn't know it was bad until a day later.. His knee injury was all over the news and papers, quit making up stupid arguments..

Please allow me to explain my comments. Pitt79 remarked: "In all honesty, I doubt if Crosby, Roethlisberger or McCutcheon where injured that it would lead the news segment?"

I was just providing some context as to how an injury to a highest profile area athlete might be received. I agree with Owt that some athletes garner headline attention over others. For example, if Cutch went out for the rest of the year at this point, that just might lead the news. And I have no problem with that, nor did I have a problem with the amount of attention Conner's injury received.

Yeah, this lead the sports stories. If his leg fell off, maybe it would lead the entire news cast, but it didn't.

I don't know what the complaint is here.

I agree Pitt gets a short shrift in with the local media. But some of these people see the boogeyman around every corner and behind every door.

You compare the acting talents of Ben Affleck to the far superior acting talent of most A%E series actors ... for shame.. he tries though , I mean look at his killer work in Pearl Harbor all shoot'n and stuff...

You sir are delusional if you don't think every local news organization would lead with Ben R or Cutch being done for the season. Crosby, it's happened before, so not sure.
