Pat Narduzzi talked to Pitt QB commit Kenny Pickett first thing this morning, and it sounds like it was a pretty good talk. Narduzzi told Pickett that he would be in close contact throughout this process and Pickett seemed to appreciate that.
At this point, Pickett still plans to enroll early at Pitt, even though he acknowledges that a new offensive coordinator might not be in place by then. He did add "As of now" to a few text messages I got from him, which seems to imply that something could change, so we'll keep an eye on that. But I think he's still pretty firmly with Pitt; we'll see what the next couple weeks bring.
Like I said yesterday, Narduzzi is the key here. He needs to keep Pickett in contact and reassure him that the offense won't be a drastic departure.
