Of all the nimrod columnists and reporters in Pittsburgh I think he might be the most disappointing.

Gorman has been the Trib's recruiting writer for damn near 15 years. So he above anyone should realize the amount of transfers from this program after 22 coaches in six years. He above anyone should remember that the 2012 recruiting class - which would be redshirt seniors now - only had 16 kids in it total. He above anyone should remember that the 2015 class had a whopping 15 kids and was ranked 70th. He above anyone should also remember that Chryst's lackluster recruiting was a concern.

Jesus, the Post Gazette did a story two years ago about how Pitt had more players transfer in the past four years than Penn State.

Shouldn't a guy who covered Pitt's recruiting also understand Pitt's weaknesses at certain positions? Instead, we go all knee jerk and reactionary. "Narduzzi needs to WIN!" With what, you afro'd Ron Cook? You above anyone should know the secondary options are either young or straight up awful and we aren't exactly overflowing with receiving options. It's why we're passing to a 300-pound lineman.

He is a Nitter. PS Grad.

He was the Pitt beat writer for awhile and now has done a 180. I like the Trib compared to the PG, but it is upsetting how hard he is coming at Narduzzi. He may have had a little bit coming to him with the spaz-out on the sidelines, but beyond that Gorman is reaching... CorsosRevenge, I did not realize those stats about the recruiting classes in 2012 and 2015...that is shocking.

Those classes were obviously the ones associated with Graham and Chryst's departures. Take away the lack of ranking - that 2012 class was like 45th or something. You have an opportunity to bring in 25 kids per season, knowing a few will flame out, get injured or transfer (or in the case of TJ Porter, quit and come back 31 times in two seasons). We brought in 10 less than what is allowed twice in a four year span because of coaching change.

That's seriously like sanctioning yourself. Penn State lost 10 scholarships over two seasons and screamed bloody murder about it. We gave up 20 willingly.

Why does it surprise anyone. He is pandering to a fanbase that AGREES WITH HIM.

Todd graham was given an F by the media after his first year and many fans agree me with him. Chryst inherited a dumpster fire and was considered a huge failure. Jamie Dixon was a terrible coach. Now narduzzi sucks.

I swear, if I were narduzzi and another gig came up, even a lateral move, I would bolt.

You have a weak attitude, then. Narduzzi laughs at clowns like Gorman (and others) in the Pgh media. He's going to be at Pitt a LONG time. The people that PN consults with and whose opinions matter the most to him are the people he works for: Patrick Gallagher and Scott Barnes. The rest he sheds like water off a duck's back.

I liked him when covering the beat. Thought he was probably one of the best ones we have had. Desperate times call for desperate measures since he is probably trying to save his job. What better/easy way to get attention than by attacking Pitt.

Bolting because some chump in the media trashed you is not Narduzzi's way. That's like cutting off you're nose to spite your face .Making them eat their words is the way to go.

What about when the donors and fans start getting in barnes' ear? Narduzzi isn't dumb...he saw how the Dixon situation played out, and narduzzi doesn't have a 10 million dollar buyout.

He's been slowly drifting. I'd guess someone from state in his ear, or someone at pitt pissed him off, or he's on chopping block.

Honest to goodness, YOU ought to be on the chopping block as a poster. HCPN is "drifting"? Did you see the intensity he coached with last week? Listen to his press conferences? The guy is 100% bought in and, I'm quite convinced, plans to bring Pitt to the big time as soon as he can. The time to get there will be a huge agitation to him, but he will.

So, yeah, keep thinking MSU is a-calling or he's getting fired after the best first-20-games record at Pitt in 2 generations.

What parliament of morons this board is...

He isn't talking about PN. Re-read it.

Exactly. Why do you think he keeps things from the media like injuries, etc. He thinks they are tools and doesn't care.

Do you think Pitt is the only fanbase who want to win and criticize their coaches?

Sure - but their fan bases support the team financially and actually attend the games. Pitt fans do not attend, do not support the program, and then complain when they do not win. This isn't professional sports.

Gorman is probably just acting out like the rest of the press out of frustration because Narduzzi is so secretive about everything with the press. It makes it hard for them to write legit stories based on info so they have to gin up invented stuff (i.e., create drama) to sell copy.

But its the way things work in a professional sports town.

That doesn't explain his ridiculous column ripping pitt on the supposed bad treatment of Brandon Knight

This could very well be true. I know this happened in Knoxville when Lane Kiffin took over. The local media didn't get their inside scoops that they were used to with David Cutliffe & Randy Sanders and they constantly whined about it and have piled on LK ever since.

I wasn't a fan of how Narduzzi came off looking Thursday night, as it was a little over the top, but I think its been blown way out of proportion. Overall, I like his intensity.

No offense numnuts, but HCPN does not care what the media thinks. He disdains the media. You can go back to being a buffoon.

You didn't even have a point. You had nothing of any value to Say. You're a drunk and a loser. And I'll bet you've never met Narduzzi in person so you can't speak for him. He's nothing more than a character on your TV screen.

If you do not attend the games and do not support the school financially; you are not a fan, you are a bititching yinzer. Not a fan.
This town has more bititching yinzers than fans by a long shot.
The local yellow journalists cater to the bititching yinzers. It's that simple.

I also find it hilarious how Mark Madden randomly came out trashing both Narduzzi and Barnes. Just last year he had Narduzzi on the show and talked about how he wanted to make it to a game.

Now randomly he's all "I used to like pitt athletics but not anymore". I know the dude is largely an act and all but still, not even mentioning Steve Peterson/how much he set us back... yeah ok.

Mark Madden is living proof that the ratio of horse's a$$es to horses will always be greater than 1.

I attend and support. Dont lump me in with the dopes who dont. Football and basketball for 27 years. And the dopes who criticize we who go including most away games, all bowl and post season Basketball games are the worst so called fans on here. I dont consider people on here who mock attendance "Pitt Fans".
