Before the game I stated that there were two major keys to the game:
1. Pressure on Kaaya. We got zero pressure all game (and we blitzed a lot). Terrible performance by the D line.
2. Turnovers. We lost the turnover battle and did it in absolutely critical situations...game over.
A few more thoughts on the game itself.
1. DB's - once again, they stunk. Made zero plays. Hamlin got smoked, but so did the other DB's. Keep putting these guys on an island Pat. It's working pretty well.
2. Running game was not effective. First game of the year that our running game was really irrelevant. Of course, the fact that we were down so much didn't help, but we weren't effective in the run game even when the game was still close. BTW - defenses have completely figured out how to stop the jet sweep. Hasn't worked for weeks.
3. O line had their worst game of the year. Peterman was constantly under pressure. Run blocking was not up to snuff either. Miami Dline outplayed us badly.
4. Our WR's are incredibly pedestrian. Besides Weah, we have no deep threats at all.
5. Henderson. Live by the sword die by the sword. The guy is clearly one of our best playmakers but he's also becoming a fumble machine. He puts up 7 with a big return, but then gives it right back with a bad fumble in the red zone.
6. Coaching. Poor to horrible today. Fake punt in the first half was comical. Gave Miami great field position and the play had absolutely zero chance of working. Punting with 2 minutes left down by 16 on 4th down and 5? Just plain stupid.
7. Peterman decision making was bad. The obvious horrible decision on the pick in the end zone really killed any chance we had of winning. Worse yet, he had Conner right in front of him for a 2-3 yard gain, but throws it right into Miami's hands. He also missed a bunch of key throws. Takes an absolutely absurd sack on third down in the red zone...pushing the FG attempt back by 12 yards (and of course, Blewitt misses). That also killed momentum. Peterman needed to play a great game and we got average to below average.
8. I do have one positive note. I thought Narduzzi won the wet tee shirt contest vs Richt.
