Since his name surfaced a week or so ago. Has anyone seen any updates? Seem like an good fit for a Center and open Minutes with us and him.

He would easily be the most important addition for 2019. He is the 4th rated JUCO and the #1 big guy who is putting in serious work at Daytona State. He'd obviously be a Day 1 starter. Another name I'd keep an eye on if I were Capel is Andre Allen, the #3 rated JUCO big man. He is committed to Buffalo but this has to be the year Nate Oats cashes in.

Sy would be a perfect fit, but there are going to be a lot of suitors for him. L$U is involved heavily, so I’m not getting my hopes up.

Yea, hard to imagine L$U lets him get away. Hey, look, L$U is a Final Four contendor after being left for dead. Gee, how'd that happen?

Will Wade is as dirty as they come. He gives Bill Self a run for his money. LSU is an athletics factory, but when he started pulling East Coast kids down to the cesspool that is Baton Rouge, it was pretty easy to figure out what was happening.

College basketball is still largely territorial. West Coast kids largely stay out west, East Coast kids largely stay East, Gonzaga pulls a few monsters from overseas, etc. You’ll always have the blue bloods who can pull kids from anywhere based on their reputation, but generally kids stay relatively close to their home base. Anytime I see kids going to random places like Western KY or LSU, I just assume a deal got made

Before one of our kids decided he had enough of football and enrolled at PITT he played football for a non D1/P5 college.
If you think the pay-off stuff is just in D1 sports think again.
The U had won NC in it's division back in the 90's and was trying to get back to that form.

Many of the coaches were from that era, other grads ( ex football stars) had businesses in the area including CAR dealerships and Real Estate businesses. One of the alums financed a football only weight room.

As players progressed they wanted the players to live in apartments all year long ( it was a you pay and get the money back), the TOP players had a vehicle, job, and walking around money.

The jobs didn't keep the players busy because they wanted the players in the weight room and on the practice field. That's why they wanted them in the apartments during the school year and summer.

This isn't D1/P5 football! It wasn't even close to that level.

Guess what, in the area it wasn't a "giant" secret either? It was a smallish college with a large and generous fanbase that wanted to see another NC era.

IMO this is a huge tangled web at many levels, if unraveled, college sports would have to restructure and rebuild.

If a college sports program isn't in the game it most likely won't get the players it needs to be successful!

Well, the FBI does want to speak with Will Wade, so there's that.

He was already caught on a wire tap played at the last trial discussing paying a player and yet, he is still coaching a team lead by players from NJ and CT (who Im sure always dreamed of playing for LSU) who heck, might win the whole dang thing if they get a few breaks.

You know it’s fun to go to a school , root for a school or play for a school that wins NC . Some folks will do whatever it takes and at D1 level there’s a lot of moola at stake !

The college I was referencing was a college that's not a D1 program, not close to a top D1 program but they still have the network in place to be sure they get the players they need to accomplish that goal.

My point is the pay for play plan is in place at many levels in college football and basketball not just at the D1 level.

My point was winning is fun at any level . Was just saying it also can be very profitable at the D1 level .
