The Steelers/Lion preseason game drew at a peak almost 8 million viewers, most watched NFL preseason game since 2013. It beat the MLB All Star game, which was prime time with no other sports competition. It beat every NBA game on Christmas and their all star game. It's funny (sad) that it slightly out drew last year's Peach Bowl which basically contained the same two areas going at it. But it was preseason.
Anyways, so I was to this annoying sales guy from Boston and when he found out I was from Pittsburgh, he was grilling me on the Stillers over and over. QB, etc...to the point I told him well I am more excited for the big game Thursday night here. And he drew a blank, and I mentioned the Pitt game. "Oh, I don't follow college ball, just the NFL". Whammy. That's the Northeast. And alot of Western PA. The great thing, the FAN is covering this like it is a Steelers playoff game. They have done great. The other stations, it is Steelers QB talk or whatever.
Just amazing the numbers the NFL pulls.
