Kipers 1st mock draft

Imagine putting your franchise in the hands of Will Levis or Anthony Richardson.
We had the, "2023 will be a deep QB draft," rammed down our throats all last winter so I guess it has to be justified somehow.

No idea what we'll think of Pickett as a Steeler in a few years but they could have done worse.

Yeah, I think a lot of that hinged on those two guys having way better seasons than they did and then maybe even a guy like DJ figuring it out or something. It's far from a deep class this year. There may be a more normal amount of first round QB picks, but I don't know that any of them will be all that good. Although I'd certainly take my chances with at least Bryce Young. I honestly haven't watched a ton of Stroud. He seemed to be on fire in the first half against Georgia, but it seemed like the commentary was that it was about the best he's played.

Will Levis has a 0% chance to be good. You should see some analyst tweets ripping some of his decisions. He's an INT machine. Pickett is better than all those dudes.
Will Levis has a 0% chance to be good....Why do you say stupid stuff like that? Is is for the sake of the joy you get by annoying rational people?

Kiper has Addison going to the Giants around 23 as I recall.
So that 2021 team might end up having three future first round picks, maybe four if the supposed hype around Gavin B by some outlets comes to fruition. Pretty sure that’d be the most we’ve had on one team since 1980.

It's always weird when the analysts recommend waiting another year to take a QB because it's weak this year. A deep QB class often means there are 3 guys worth taking. Which means unless you really really suck, you're not going to be in position to get one of them without trading a lot of draft picks. Had the Steelers started Trubisky all year they are probably picking 14th right now, which means they'd be in position to trade a future first round pick for the right to move up 7 spots so they can draft Will Levis..brilliant idea...

I don't know what chance he got but I wasn't impressed with him.
I don't know one way or the other but if the powers that be think him worthy of being drafted somewhere in the first couple rounds its absurd (SMF shooting 72 at Augusta in the Ridiculousness Open again) to say he has a 0% chance of "being good"...

I think thats a dream scenario for Kancey - Would allow him to line up next to Jordan Davis, who eats blocks, freeing Kancey up to chase the ball. That being said, as an Eagles fan, I think thats a bit of a reach. I'd be happier with the move if it came with their 29th-32nd pick.

Not sure that it would impact Hargrave - I believe he is more of a 2-gap guy like Davis.

Young is by far the most talented and best QB of this class. Unfortunately he's lucky if he's even 6' tall and he's slight, maybe 180 pounds, and those things matter in the NFL--a lot. I wouldn't feel good about drafting any of these QBs in the top 10 or even 15. If I had to take one, I guess it would be Stroud.

If you could go into next season with Young or Pickett, who would you take? I'd probably go with Young.

I don’t know about Levis but all of the people who said KP would be a second round pick this year were wrong. He’d be probably be drafted in about the same position this year

Young is super talented but his size will be a concern. A lot of the other shorter QBs in the league are still in the 210+ range and we haven't seen many make deep playoff runs. It's also why you see guys like Levis and Richardson rated so high. They have ideal size and huge arms.

Young is talented, I'm just not confident he'll lead a team to a Super Bowl. I suppose that's where teams take the risk on the size and arm talent.

Seems odd given everything else I’ve read doesn’t have him nearly that high. But I like it!

FWIW, the guy from the Athletic did position rankings today and had Kancey as the 9th best defensive lineman.

He has Izzy at the number 10 running back, Warren as the number 11 tackle, and Dennis as the number 12 linebacker.

And since someone is bound to ask, he has Addison as the number 1 wide receiver.

I know some want to slag off Addison since he transferred to play in a warmer place with a better qb for a season -
But he’s as close to a sure thing in the nfl (assuming health ) as has been since Fitz

I'm assuming you mean closest to a sure thing in terms of a former Pitt receiver since Fitzgerald?

I like it even there are multiple Pitt guys on one team. Besides, I think Kancey becoming an impact player for the Eagles helps Pitt football’s profile in eastern PA. Ok, maybe not.
I'm a Giants fan. Hate to see any Pitt guys playing for the Iggles. Hope Maddox becomes a free agent and leaves them.

I thought Anthony Miller had some redeeming qualities as a college QB. But at no point in watching him did it ever cross my mind that he would be a top 10 pick

Thanks for the Bradberry gift BTW!
You wouldn't have gotten that gift if the G's cap space wasn't such a mess, which is weird since the new regime inherited a losing team. A $40M contract for Golladay says a lot. I hope you don't win the Super Bowl, although I was thrilled to see the Iggles beat Belechick, Brady, and the Pats.

Haha. That was a glorious day as an Eagles fan. Not too often will the general masses be rooting FOR a Philly team.
