Kudos to Christian

What is nice is he is clearly capable. More reps is only going to help. I expect him to just continue to get better. By the way, the pass blocking for the most part, was much better tonight.

This was for sure, you can see he improved a ton over the course of this game. He was SOOOOOOO tight at first, after the long td pass he seemed like a different QB.

how bad is our qb situation that we are celebrating 12-26 for 200 yards lol. 288 yards total offense, that's why we are happy.

gonna go out on a limb and say this staff stays away from recruiting any Pine Richland QBs for the next decade or so..

Were you at the game. The weather was terrible. He played well. He is young and gives us HOPE

Well, I think he started 0-5, and I can remember 3 easy drops after that, so that would make him 15 for 21 with probably 225 yards. I know, it's silly, but isn't that what fans do?

lol, that's quite a spin. not sure how that adds up. if the officials call a pass interference (which it clearly was) on our Devonshire Pick 6, we probably lose. our DB literally pushed the wr in his pattern which caused the interception.

a lot of Ifs and buts. i go with "it is what it is."

Uhhh it wasn’t clear at all but I can give you a QB who then pushed a ref without penalty (wtf???) a BS roughing the passer call … and a huge completion gifted to LVille that clearly wasn’t (his heel touched the paint it was absolutely visible)… and probably loads of other bad calls

No one is putting CV up for Heisman but PITT beats L’Ville by 17 and you seem mad you can’t just continue shitting all over the program again this week it looks like to me.

Give credit where it’s due for crissakes

Starting with the first TD pass, I don’t remember a single bad read or boneheaded play by the QB. The weather sucked, there were some drops and they played with a lead much of the second half, so the play calling was pretty conservative (until the 4th down bomb).

I’m not suggesting CV has answered every question at this point. Sometimes a QB just has “it” - that talent to make everyone around him step up that little bit extra that it takes to win games. And I didn’t see any (I don’t remember any) easy passes that missed badly. So maybe this kid is the answer for the next 2.5 seasons. Hopefully he is.

It was debatable whether his heel actually landed, to me the replay suggested that only the ball of his foot touched the ground and that the heel never came down.

If you take away all his incompletions, add a few different play calls, and adjust the YAC a little, you're looking at 23-23 for 375 yards and 4 TDs. Not a bad day for a backup.

That's the guy's first start. What were you expecting?

He's raw as hell, wasn't asked to do a lot, and the offense put up 31 pts. He clearly has some ability.

Pretty sure it's absolutely legal to chip a WR near tge LOS before the ball is released (he was releasing as it happened but hadbt yet released the ball). Ironically, the other Ville WR I believe was supposed to pick DeShields but DeShields cut under it flipped that script setting up an awesome pick 6. It's one of the dangers of that play. Refs were calling everything too... Thinking they saw no issue there given some of the other calls that they made.

Considering the rain, the opponent, and his lack of experience, and who our receiving corp is...I thought he did pretty well.

We definitely got some lucky breaks but it was a legit solid win.

Not accurate. It was legal as the push happened well within 5 yards of the LOS and before the ball left the QBs hand. There was no PI on that play. Plummer and Brohm crying like little bitches don't change what really happened.

it was a play that would be called 50% of the time and if it worked as planned, would be called a "pick" on the offense 50% of the time..

i like the no call of course but im a pitt fan.. go to exactly the 9:16 second mark, ball is in air, #23 is pushing him, we pick it off. again, close but could have easily gone against us.

The push initiates before the ball leaves his hand within the 5 yards allotted by the rules. It's not a penalty.

It's a horrible decision by the QB to throw the ball to a WR who is getting knocked off his route.

And it was Thrash… so he was likely zoomed in on him from the snap…

To be fair, we didnt have the ball most all the second half with our defense getting a pick 6 and setting up another score. And he started 1-7. He did play a good game. He was CLEARLY nervous as hell, and when he got comfortable he actually looked like a good qb

Don't know if anyone remembers Danny's first pass was an interception.
Second pass was a td.
Danny had ice running through his veins.
Can see a little bit of that in Christian also.
Don't want to compare the two but, Christian might just be a poor man's
version of Danny
