Maybe I'm being petty, but I've written to the athletic department about what I consider to be a pretty glaring problem with this past season's FBS home schedule:

Kent State - Yellow and Navy Blue
West Virginia - Yellow and Navy Blue
Cal - Yellow and Navy Blue
Syracuse - Orange and White
Virginia - Orange and White
Clemson - Orange and White

Not trying to be the fashion patrol or anything, but as someone who appreciates the many uniforms and colors in college football, I kind of expected more. You wonder how the schedule makers didn't pick up on this beforehand and realize, "Wait a second. We owe it to those fans to switch it up a bit." And now we're playing a bowl game (i.e. like a 50% home game) against yet another Yellow and Navy Blue opponent... I don't know; like I said, you just kind of wonder how these things slip through the cracks.

I actually appreciate SMU's red/white/blue uniforms because those are rare in college football and a unique look. I think maybe they should tune down the D logos on everything since they aren't officially located in Dallas but I get why they do it.

These things slip through the cracks like blue and yellow thong underwear.

I'm not huge on red, white, and blue as a combo in sports, but I do like Ole Miss' uniforms with the shade of blue that isn't navy - those are some of the best.

Half the SEC has the red and the white part down, though.

Alabama
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Mississippi State
Arkansas
Georgia and South Carolina at least have black mixed in

I've found that if you put a rolling pin, running perpendicular to your ass crack, beneath the thong you can really avoid a lot of those issues. But it does create some other challenges - not gonna lie.

I think school colors are one of the weirder things about sports. Sometimes there are stories behind how they arrived at a color scheme, although I think a lot of those stories are fairytales, but I'm also convinced that it was arbitrary in most cases.

There is a tiny little school in Fulton County that supports my theory. Most people don't even know it's there but their mascot is the cardinal and the school colors are blue and gold. Make it make sense. Always begs the question, did they decide on the colors first or did they just arbitrarily come up with the mascot later? Wiki page, for reference...look in at the bottom of the box on the right. Forbes Road.

Fulton county is God's country (or at least it used to be). I used to go to the grease, steam, and rust show in McConnellesburg. It's been two decades I guess since I have been to it. Cowan's gap is a nice spot that I still visit. Mostly I just pass through now on the turnpike or 70. I hope not much has changed.
