Just read an article that Greek power Olympiakos is possibly looking to sign Lamar Patterson. While it is not a done deal, he is being looked at as a shooting guard/small forward. Olympiakos has won a couple European Basketball Championships and this past year lost in the finals. They are considered one of the better teams in Europe.

Ironically it looks like he would take the roster spot of Khem Birch, who signed with the Magic a couple days ago.

This is about the highest level you can be at if you're not in the NBA. Probably the highest paying league outside the NBA. Dominique Wilkins and Roy Tarpley are other guys that have played for Olympiakos.

Of course, Wilkins played in Greece at the very end of his long, 25,000 point NBA career after the Celtics basically made him a depth player, and Tarpley played there because he was permanently banned from the NBA after 9 years due to repeated substance abuse issues--but your point that it's about as high level as it gets below the NBA is true.

There was another guy, who's name I can't remember, played for Olympiakos for more money, in the middle of his NBA career, when he was still wanted by NBA teams.
