Would you rather take a chance on a shooter who can do nothing else (I’m assuming most of the shooters who can are gone now), a development maybe under the radar HS guy, or a backup PG.

My choice would be scouring for a chase Adam’s type backup PG just in case: not sure any shooter we could get now is gonna help and development guy at this point unless it’s a big is dumb and we have no room for bigs.

Maybe Jeffress will surprise and be able to make 1/4 3 pointers this year

Realistically - a grad transfer PG or SG looking for a chance to be on a tournament team. A security blanket in case something happens and/or willing to accept backup minutes. Chase Adams fits this profile.

That’s my thought. Maybe take a chance on a high level D2 guy or a HBCU guy and let them know they need to carve out their own role. Pretty crowded on every other position

Wouldn’t be surprised if they do another feel good scholarship, aiden fisch style . From my source they’ll be saving a scholarship till the fall.

Yeah, get a shooter from lower D-1 or high D-2. Chance to make the tourney on an ACC team. Pitt can sell it. Don’t want to rely ‘\”too” much on the freshmen to be honest.

Some of the early struggles of this staff was because they’d only have 8-9 scholarship guys available by January. You have to expect 1 guy is gonna get injured and one guy is gonna get suspended. And 1 guy might not make it to campus or transfer mid season. So using 13 is the smart play even if it’s just insurance

I'd rather have a veteran ball handler than a shooter. The pickings are slim this late. And there will be competition so not every player will want to risk coming here. But having a decent veteran who could play if needed would help.

Guys who can play the 1 and/or 2. If someone gets injured or something happens, then we are on thin ice. Hopefully our staff adds another guard.
