Lawrence is certainly the real deal

Out classed , out gained , out scored , out coached , out recruited...Should we even bother continuing ?
BTW . H2P Dag Nabbit !!!!

I’m actually confused as to why McShay has him graded a 97 and showed he had Luck a 99. No offense to Luck, but he was never this good. Lawrence is the best QB prospect to ever come out. Extremely mobile and tonight alone has made at least a handful of throws with pinpoint accuracy that many NFL starters wouldn’t make regularly.

I was going to say I'm not sure how I would rank them all but I'd put him along side Luck and Peyton Manning as guys who looked like pro quarterbacks their full college career. Can't miss.

If Jurkovec were at Clemson this year he still wouldn't have taken his first meaningful snap.

He would, however, have gotten into the game today.

No he wouldn’t have. He wouldn’t have been the backup 5 star they had that came in the 4th quarter or the senior that came in with 34 seconds left trying to score from the 2.

Clemson will hammer ND the second time in the ACC Cham game 42-17. Mark it down.
Clemson at full strength is the better team and will likely win, but barring ND COVID issues or key injuries I very much doubt it will be any kind of blowout. This ND team is a little different than in years past. Much more physical especially along the O line, a very athletic and aggressive defensive front 7, a lot of size and athleticism all over the field, and a true dual threat QB who has gotten better and more confident each year he’s been at ND. They’re good. Deservedly and legitimately this year’s top 4.

If I’m Clemson, Lawrence will be living in a bubble with zero contact. He is that good.

I will say, I think our QB has better hair. Pickett has that going for him against Lawrence.

If I were starting an NFL franchise today, I'd take Lawrence over any QB in the NFL right now except: 1) Mahomes; 2) Russ; and 3) Deshaun Watson. That's it. That's the entire list.

The only thing remotely critical i can say about Lawrence is that if he continues to run the ball like he did against Pitt (and other teams) he is going to end up like Burrow (hurt). I'm not saying he is slow and I'm not saying he is soft. But he won't be able to get away with that stuff in the NFL.

If I am Lawrence, if the Jets are the #1 pick I tell everyone that I am staying for another season. Then I quietly tell Coach Dabo that I will be opting out so that he can get enough practice for the kid who played when Lawrence was out. I would not want to go to the Jets, where dreams go to die.

Put Jukovech on that Clemson team and he would look like a stud as well.
Nope disagree, they would've lost to ND by more. Reverse it, put Lawrence on BC and what would their record be? Much better than what it is now, in my opinion.

I might even take him over Watson. The only thing that that even makes me lean towards Watson is he’s only 4 years older than Lawrence. So it’s not like you’re losing a ton of years of having a franchise QB taking Watson over Lawrence.

you know, some QBs have done this in past, elway, eli, im sure some others and honestly, it probably has been incredibly career saving moves. comes off as pompous and arrogant but dang if it doesnt work.. Seriously, going to a bad team who doesnt invest around you can ruin careers..

Look at the long list of the browns Qbs, are you telling me a few of these guys, if drafted under different circumstances, couldnt have had a nice career? Hopefully Burrow with Bungles comes back in a year or two and they realize they must immediately invest in an OL. that's anohter guy that if things dont change, he could be retired and out of football before he's 25 due to a poor surrounding.

Thanks for sharing. Quite the Lawrence fanbase for a PITT board.

I agree with you. The year they made it into the championship game against Bama they had a lot of flaws. They were lucky to beat us that year and had other close calls against teams that weren’t all that good. This year’s ND team is a lot more talented and it is a veteran squad.

The issue for Clemson was more on the defensive side of the ball the first time they played ND. I know they had a few guys out including their MLB, but ND moved the ball easily against them. I would be very surprised if Clemson blew them out.

Not slobbering at all. I will say it is worth mentioning that Jurchovich has better stats than Lawrence and there is not a single player on BC who is better than their counterpart on Clemson.

I'm sure someone could scour all the databases and come up with a lot of QBs who have “better stats”.

You might be the only person on the planet who thinks Jurkovec is better than Lawrence.

Jurkovec has nice size and some tools. He’s got a good chance. But he can’t hold a candle to Lawrence.

Announcers said Lawrence already addressed that and he’s going pro knowing his landing spot...unless there is some wild Herschel Walker type trade up, that is.

Yeah, he and Watson are close. Watson's advantages are the rushing upside, which is almost necessary in today's NFL, and the fact that he's already proven he could do it with poor coaching and talent around him. I don't think Lawrence will fail with the Jets, but they're just such a black hole of talent so that's really the only concern that I have for him.

This is a nice thought but without Lawrence the Jets would just be in position to pick #1 again and then he's back to square one.

Plus there are several other historically terrible franchises that are equally as awful. Would Lawrence be wise to turn down a year's earnings, and risk injury, to go from the Jets to the Browns?

Good point.
