I had Nikki Glaser tickets yesterday so I didn't go to the game. Really happy about that decision. Some thoughts:
- We need to give Yarnell a full game. CV should get his chance to compete in camp next year under hopefully a much different offense but he singlehandedly gave this game away yesterday. Up 13-7 with a chance to go up by 2 scores and you just drop the ball. He seems to fall apart almost immediately after a mistake. Don't forget his pick 6 was after we stopped them on 4th and goal and had taken some momentum back. Yarnell looked jittery his first series but seemed to show confidence on his last series.
- RBs were fine yesterday but not great. WTF was that toss play to carter? This guy is a tank and you run a play where he has to turn around and catch the ball stopping his forward momentum? That fumble call on Hammond was beyond ridiculous. It wasn't a fumble in real time. It wasn't a fumble on replay. And why are you not blowing the play dead with 4 guys tackling him?
- Epps had his best day as a panther catching the ball but on the Bub Means 65 yard catch why are you not blocking the guy in front instead of the guy in back? You can see why this guy is all physical and no instinct. Not one f'ing catch for Bart.
- The defense continues to absolutely suck at tackling and especially tackling in space. I actually thought McMillon and McIntyre had some decent games in run support although your starting safeties totaling 22 tackled tells you what you need to know about yesterday. Nice to see Hayes, Brima and Scott make plays but holy sh*t. How do you let a team that threw 8 passes beat you that badly? Also, how did we just sit in base defense all day knowing this? We let a tight end run wild cat all day for yards and scores. 2 guys over 100 yards rushing with no threat of a pass. Can we try 5 lineman? 4 linebackers? Move both safeties up to the LB spots?
- Nice to see Sauls make 2 kicks.
- I don't know what else to say about this. I'm going to the BC game which will be my first one this year and I'll be in a box hopefully seeing a third win .
