That was so enjoyable. I don't know that I enjoyed a win more this year, including Duke because this one just seemed to be in hand all the way the end. Some thoughts:
- Teams must have hated playing Pitt under Dixon. UVA gets away with so much cheap shot bumping on cuts. Fun to be on the side and win.
- I still can't believe we got outclassed at home to go to 10-7 and 1-5 against Cuse for us to end up at 16-8 and 7-6. Wonder what happens if that foul is called on Lowe against Miami.
- I think we all were hopeful but doubtful seeing this game on the schedule. Biggest game remaining on the schedule for me is at Wake. We could be 18-8 and 9-6 if we beat Lville and get another good road win. That would leave us with 3 home games and at BC which should all be winnable with the at Clemson game being the toughest of the bunch. Heck, we might even end up ranked if we walk into Clemson at 19-8.
- Total credit to Capel and this team. Just an amazing turn around. For all of the crap I give Capel about X and Os, he's built a really mentally tough team.
- Hinson's 27 almost outscored either half for UVA. Funny to think he has an effect now when he isn't shooting the 3 well. He seems to have come to the realization that he needs to be old man game at the rim, shot stops, up and unders. Works better than trying to score at the whole with limited athleticism.
- To only have 8 TOs against a defensive minded team like that is really just spectacular. Bub didn't have a great offensive game but his 6 dimes were a team high.
- Bub and Leggett getting 16 total boards (9 less than UVA total) was a huge factor. Those 2 really show that there is an art and instinct to rebounding.
- Leggett had about as good a game you can have shooting 2-11. Both his make were 3s. 7-8 from the line and 3 steals including the aforementioned 8 boards.
- I was not impressed with Ryan Dunn. I don't see how this guy is a potential lottery pick.
- Can't wait to watch this game Saturday night. I still can't this turnaround.
