I watch them pretty closely as that was my old position back in the day. Looks like we are run blitzing Galambos and Caprara a ton and they are getting sucked into gaps. the safeties are up tight but our DTs are getting handled and the interior OLs and big RBs are getting a free run at our second leve for 7-8 yards, so the safeties are getting run over. Galambos and Caprara aren't getting off blocks and just aren't athletic enough to make downhill plays. Grigsby is supposed to provide more edge/outside leverage on the strong side for the most part so he isn't there in the middle to help. The middle has been way too soft, starting with the D tackles. It's a domino effect-if the DL was doing a better job, the LBs would be doing a better job, etc etc. The whole front 7 has been pushed around the past couple weeks by bigger, better, stronger athletes. Price is the one front 7 player who has played at a high level every single week. He's a man out there, strong, powerful athlete who uses his head and his athleticism.I agree - ND runs some of the same stuff NC does - spread sets, but run with power.
This helps to take DL out of the mix and pop backs into the middle of the defense. LBs HAVE to be strong, quick and tackle well on these plays. They just aren't doing it.
