OK, without looking it up, can you guess who led the Panther's in tackles this season? Of course Jordan Whitehead missed games, so it wasn't him...

I was kind of surprised when I saw who it was:
Lewis ...........77
Galambos ....70
Idowu............68
Webb.............66
Whitehead.....65

How about tackles for loss - that's an easy one for the leader:
Price.......21
Soto........9
Maddox...8

Interesting. Heck of a year for Soto to end his Pitt career.

Go Pitt.

Whitehead led in tackles per game, and was among the leaders in the nation in that stat until he got hurt. He would have led the team.

But I think this stat says... A. Teams picked on him ALOT. B. He played way too far off the receivers, and they quick outted us to death and C. His guy caught lots of passes per game

I think the above stats confirmed what we already knew – that Lewis was our weakest link in the secondary and was therefore picked on a lot; and that our linebackers were not nearly athletic enough.

Last year, Whitehead led the team in tackles by a ridiculous margin. That's a very bad sign.

We need to get better corner to be sure but we also need to get a LOT better and more athletic at linebacker.

The two sidelines. They never missed and they stopped everything in its tracks.
