Ledlum to St. John's

Pitino turning things around there practically overnight.

SJU alums and employees have to be so embarrassed to have such a great team, potential Final Four, but being lead by such a trashy coach. The Houston grads I know cant even get jobs anymore because of how Show-cause Kelvin Sampson has devalued their degrees. They dont care about #1 seeds. They would prefer that a choir boy coached the team and go .500.

Pitino would rather coach in NYC at St John’s with the mafia money than be at Pitt. He would never coach here

The Pitino "Legend", he wins when he can cheat more than his opponents. Every time he's coached on a level playing field he's sucked and was a sub .500 coach.

Eh....I kind of agree with BballinsiderfromPitt that Pitino is one of the greatest X and O coaches ever, cheating or not. I wouldn’t say he is the greatest, that is Tony Bennett, who wins 25+ games per year with scrubs. But he is on the very short list. SJU will be in a Final Four soon.

Obviously. You’d have to be an idiot to think otherwise. He’s one of the only coaches who take 5 teams to the ncaa tournament. Soon to be 6. He’d win bigger than anyone not named Dixon if he did take Pitt.

There's no disputing his greatness IMO. He
even had little Iona, (and I do mean Little)
on the rise. He's from Long Island, right up
the road from St. John's (Queens). Despite
the dislike on this board, he's a legend in
that area and is returning to his roots. I
predict the Johnnies to be at the head of
the Big East sooner than later. NYC and
the immediate will see top talent considering
them as they did back in the day with
Chris Mullin and others.

Yeah, yeah...I'm aware of the reputation, the
cheatings etc. I can assure you Big East
coaches know what they're gonna be facing
in the next few years.
