What can Pitt do to fight this scandalous game? It is a fact that the refs were paid to have Pitt lose. In my personal opinion, we need to go to the courts to get this resolved. Perhaps the newly appointed AG can do something. The ACC has been doing this for the last 5 years.

We storm the ACC Headquarters in Charlotte on Monday before the result of this game is certified.

Make Pitt and UVA meet at indoor practice facility. Implement the 5 yard penalty and have game proceed UVA ball 4th and 6th. If Pitt pulls out the comeback we are rewarded the "redo" win in standings. Since the ACC makes up their own rules, I don't see this being an issue for them. Free mulligans for everyone!

Complete garbage.

I don't think they replay that down if UVA makes the yard.

I hate to complain about refs. That inconsequential "hold" on the 2-point conversion, I shrugged my shoulders. Fine, bad calls happen, I said.

But giving them 5 downs was the most mind-boggling call I've ever seen in 35 years of watching football at any level.

If Virginia snapped it too early, they should be flagged.

Look at the consequences of the call. Redo w/ extra play 4 and 1 and drain the clock down to 2:20 and get a chip shot field goal. This is compared to 4 and 6 at the 29 (46 yard field goal) and over 6 minutes remaining on the clock. The extra down happened at 6:30.

Bostick said it on the radio. It's the refs jobs to get the heck out of the way. Virginia didn't rush to the line, they brought 2 O lineman in and new personnel.

Approved Ruling 4-1-4

  1. Snapper A1 snaps the ball before the ball is made ready for play. A2 muffs the snap and B1 recovers the ball. RULING: Dead ball foul, Team A illegal procedure. Penalty - Five-yards from the succeeding spot, Team A's ball. The ball does not become alive, and all action should be stopped immediately by the game officials. [Cited by 2-2-4-b, 4-1-1, 4-1-4, 7-1-1-a, 7-1-1-b]
  2. Kicker A1 kicks off before the referee has declared the ball ready for play. RULING: Dead ball foul. Penalty - Five yards from the succeeding spot. The ball does not become alive, and all action should be stopped immediately by the game officials. [Cited by 2-2-4-b, 4-1-1, 4-1-4, 7-1-1-a, 7-1-1-b]

Either way, the team controlled their own destiny 2 weeks, and didn't get it done for sooo many other reasons. They shouldn't of been in this position, but it is just so disgusting.

Peacefully of course.

Yes. A Day of Love Monday in Charlotte.

I'll tell you what, there's nothing like a classic Pitting to make you forget about other travesties that have happened this week and make you realize what's really important. We can all unite behind this all-time bad Pitt loss. And I dont mean that to say we are much better than UVa. We arent. But they were extremely beatable and then you have like 2 40/60 games and a 50/50 game to make the CFP. Probably would've have happened but lets just get to later November to find out for sure. Dont lose to Virginia! They should build a statue in Charlottesville for the officials to replace that other one.

Another Charlottesville hoax!

Bad calls here and there are going to happen, but there were 4 bad calls within an 8 minute span in the 4th Quarter and one of those gave them a 5th down which was about as bad as it gets. Pitt should not have put themselves in that position and the coaches/players are at fault, but you also can’t ignore the awful stretch of officiating.

Not sure about football but in baseball the game could have been played under protest, because that was definitely a misinterpretation of the rules, uva should have been penalized 5 yards for snapping that ball when they did

I don't think they replay that down if UVA makes the yard.
As I said in an earlier post . Pitt is the Yankee from the North in a conference run by and for the benefit of Confederates . They take every opportunity to screw the northern schools . Didn’t want them in the conference to begin with but had to take them to survive.
