Not listed on the ACC Network, which is disappointing.

Lehigh just beat Oklahoma State 21-20, but the score is a little misleading. Oklahoma State forfeited at 133. Still, Lehigh won 4 of the other 9 matches. We should be favored at 133 (although their wrestler also is ranked), 141, 165 and 184. Lehigh will be favored at 125, 174 and 197. The match likely will come down to winning the 4 we are supposed to win and winning 2 of 3 at 149, 157 and Hwt.

I don’t know anything about their 149 pounder. Their 157 and Hwt wrestlers both are ranked slightly higher than Rahmani and Meech. If I remember last year, their Hwt was just too big for Meech. With Rahmani, you never know.

First of six straight road duals. Very tough part of the schedule.

Nice win 19-18 on criteria. Newell got caught and pinned, which was tough, but we got it back when Taleb did the same to a ranked opponent at 157. Matthews was disappoining. Looked like he would run away with early but looked like he gassed out towards the end of the second. Great win by Meech over #6 Wood to get the team win. Meech's conditioning will bite him at points this year, especially against bigger heavyweights. Hope he can address this by tourney season

Great match. Meech winning was obviously huge. Rahmani's pin, Wenztel looking the best he has ever been. Underrated match was Harvey keeping it to a decision vs. #2. Nino looked good against a very solid Weiler. I thought Matthews had it in the bag but started to fade at the end. Not going to lie I was in the camp of people who was upset when Santoro didnt take the job (wanted Bono to be completely honest) but sure am glad we have Gavin. Things worked out in the end nicely.

I guess Matthews got tired. He was definitely in control most of the way

It seems like Meech wrestles best when he is up last and the match is on the line. I thought he wrestled one of his worst matches against Ohio State when they started at 197 and he was up second.

Only acc home matches are on the acc network. If acc team is on the road against ooc for the acc does not own the rights.

he'll adjust to the pace of big time wrestling. Def has the ability...Conditioning both mentally and Physically is the key. Once that aligns we will start see big thinks from Cole.

I saw that Lehigh wrestled #14 Princeton at Princeton on Saturday night. In tournaments, wrestlers are used to wrestling more than one match a day. But a night match, followed by a bus ride (albeit not a lengthy one) might have taken something out of them. They wrestled the same 10 people in both matches. Princeton won 18-14. Interestingly, 3 of the wrestlers who won at Princeton lost against us: 133, 184 and Hwt. Four wrestlers who lost at Princeton won against us: 125, 141, 149 and 197. They won at 174 in both duals, and lost at 157 and 165 in both duals.

I doubt that had much impact. The only real trouble is having to make weight 2 days in a row. But knowing that going in, they should have been well prepared.

Lehigh didnt look like they were gassing or sluggish at all. Pitt matched up with them really well overall.

Harvey hung tough, I wish stoudt had developed better but we have a program on the rise and it is exciting watching them. Hopefully we start capturing some of the local talent. Pitt should be a top 10 school annually by putting a small fence around western Pa.

Harvey was the key. First time all season their 174 pounder didn’t score bonus points. He was interviewed and said he was going for them but couldn’t do it. He really never came close: one takedown, one escape and a stalling point. Harvey rode him long enough when he was on top to eliminate any riding time. Very good tactical match by Gregg.

Yeah, he did a good job to keep it at a minor decision. Although, it seemed that was the goal from the start. He never really made many attempts to score and was happy just to be physical and make Cutler earn every point he got.

It was nice to see Meech get that win back after losing last year. He had a great strategy and wrestled really smart yesterday.
