So much - I turned off the game halfway thrive because it was making me

Yeah, although at times that announcer was so bad that it tipped over into inadvertent humor, like a howler movie that is unintentionally funny. But objectively awful, like how do they let this guy on the air awful.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I love Perry Clark. He's the friendly old guy former coach that spends maybe 10 to 15 minutes (if that, haha) in preparation after dinner on game night & just rolls with it.

He clearly did not. In fact I'm not even sure he knew there were two of them. He seemed to think they were both the same guy.

It's just entertainment. Besides, I sat through a UVA/Stanford game with Beth Mowins & Debbie Antonelli, so I'm pretty much good with anything.

Depends on what context. If we're talking about a college hoops game, I kinda know what I'm watching, so it doesn't particularly bother me. I find it more amusing than annoying. But like you say, to each their own.

What I find myself thinking is that if this guy says so much stupid, clearly incorrect stuff about the team I know about, how much stupid, clearly incorrect stuff are they saying about the other guys, who I don't know nearly as well?

Perry Clark was certainly not the reason I was miserable last night.

What I find myself thinking is that if this guy says so much stupid, clearly incorrect stuff about the team I know about, how much stupid, clearly incorrect stuff are they saying about the other guys, who I don't know nearly as well?

I get it. But it's not like I'm going to retain all that info anyway. If there's a player I really want to know more about, I'll google them or something.

It's just not something that really bothers me. After watching the sport for years, through COVID... watching Sunbelt & SoCon games on ESPN+, you kinda know what you're going to get on a 9pm Wednesday night game in Tallahassee in front of 2000 fans. It is what it is. They aren't going to be trotting Perry Clark out there for Duke/UNC.

That's what I said in the game thread last night. One thing about playing the 9:00 ESPNU game is that you get the 9:00 ESPNU announcers.

Perry Clark is so bad. I have no idea how he was a major D1 coach. I honestly think most of us know more basketball than him. He kept saying that the FSU D was forcing us out of our offensive plays. We dont run plays. Then in the 2nd Half, he said we made a good adjustment to go to the high ball screen, dribble drive. That's our offense.

They also had no clue what the scuffle was about, having no clue its bad to dunk a ball when a team has conceded.

Not a fan of the dunk, but it's simply not a big deal. It's certainly not anything that warranted a physical confrontation.
