As of today, the likely season record is 6-6 (lose to WVU) or 7-5 (beat WVU) since likely ACC record is 3-5. At least, that is what it looks like based on ESPN's current predictions on chances of winning each remaining game on the schedule.
I agree the offense at least has "passed the eye test" in comparison to last year, but I am still concerned with the defense.Of course if WVU curb stomps us (i.e a whole game like the first part of Cincy game), then things could get bad. Sure, we'd still get to 3-1, but indicators would be that we aren't that good and just got lucky with Cincy comeback. I don't think this is the case because we already pass the eye test more than last year's team. But who know, a beatdown from the Hoopies and we could back to looking like 5-7.
agreed, now that the excitement of a come back win is over, and the beer is out of my system, it's time to realize that we did in fact play an FCS caliber program in a quasi - exhibition game and played about 18 minutes of good football out of 60 minutes, against a P4 team that is projected to be one of the worst teams in the big 12.. and we really needed horrible coaching decisions by Cincy to win that one..It's just too early to tell what our record will be. We've played one quarter of good football against a team with a pulse. That isn't enough to convince me yet that we'll have more wins than last year. It's certainly possible. Maybe we'll know Saturday.
