i really dont know. hate to say it but i think we can get along just fine with mediocre OLB play. i believe you need strong disrupting DE for pressure since its' a high risk, high reward defense and our CBs get little support. so you dont get to the qb fast on drop backs, it's gonna be a long day. IF you do, this defense creates a world of havoc and chaos.
so that leads me to think strong CB play is most important BUT i've seen good strong safety play and terrible strong safety play and well, it means a world of difference in this defense, moreso than any other defense that i recall. so is it strong safety?
and what about interior DTs? You dont stop the run, the rest is all moot with this defense. so yeah, curious your thoughts.
