They backed off awhile ago due to poor grades, and we got 3 verbals from other LB'ers. He does have talent.
Poor grades never stopped anyone. Come on. If you meet the minimum SAT score with the minimum GPA, you can go anywhere but Stanford, Duke, NW, Vandy.

The Almighty would have a difficult time landing a Top 20 class with this fanbase.
You still need to be eligible with the classes you have completed. Not sure if it's accurate or not but I think the Pitt coaches needed him to be at a certain point with his classwork to have an offer. Taking on other recruits at his position likely means he wasn't making enough progress for them to wait.

It does not have to be a GPA and/or an SAT issue to still have academic issues, a recruit needs to have Core classes completed to qualify.

He was actually the subject of a lot of stories earlier this year because there was controversy over whether his transfer to Imani was going to be approved. His prior school, University Prep, challenged his transfer because they said he was following the guy who had been one of his coaches at UP who became an assistant at Imani. The give away that it shouldn't have been approved is that it was stated before hand that if he got approved that two of his teammates were going to immediately follow him to Imani, and then sure enough two days after his transfer was green lighted two of his former UP teammates joined him.

PA announcer at one point said "tackle made by Jim Bob Evans" (real name), and everyone laughed.
