I guess Pat C was afraid Filiponi was in the post-game scrum?

From AP article:
Brandon Taylor led Penn State with 14 points. The Nittany Lions were unavailable for comment following the game, but Jones said he didn't feel like Penn State played any differently once the game began slipping away.

I caught part of the game online. Where is all of this "talent" that Chambers is supposed to have been bringing to Penn St.? They were totally outclassed. I wasn't impressed by their bigs at all. It's going to get ugly once B1G play begins. Don't want to shortchange Duquesne though. They are as good a three point shooting team as you can find. This might be their best team in ages.

Sagarin's computer now has PSU firmly placed as last in the BiG and #137 nationally.

The talent Chambers is getting will all be freshman next season.

Or it transferred out/was ruled ineligible. He's been viewed as "accumulating talent" for a few years now. I don't see next year being much different. He's just awful in-game and he's not getting enough talent to just roll the balls out and let it go to work.

The man successfully recruited 2 players from Philly who are friends and team mates. since this elevates him to coaching genius status he is beneath answering question from the stinking media.

The last time PITT played UPS the score was something like 39 - 19 at halftime and ended up 94 - 50ish! We could end the year with top 25 in BB & FB. H2P

PSU has clearly passed Pitt by in basketball, or so states the ongoing narrative on this board, contrary to any actual results.

Winner - He did get a well regarded big from Philly last year.

But, overall, it is all a good bit over stated at this point.

Pitt played PSU 2 years ago, beat them by 9. That was their best team in quite a while, they had Tim Frazier and DJ Newbill together. Lamar ultimately took that game over.

Pretty much. And as I sort of alluded to earlier, that well regarded big was ruled ineligible. And not the type where he can still practice with the team.

Chambers took Nazeer Bostick this cycle, who is the type of recruit this board would be all up in arms about. Carr and Stevens followed him, although Stevens was another guy who had a weird recruiting process. Had officials lined up to Pitt and Indiana (allegedly) and then they got canceled on the school's end. Not sure if he has academic concerns as well, usually you don't see that.

No, they just have. Top 5 or 10 class coming in which is rated much higher than ours. We'd love to have those Philly guards he got.

Hey... Penn State (Pedophile State U) SUCKS! We are always better than them in BB (fields of cow flops do not go good with BB) and we are even better than them in FB this year.

So, why go on kicking a dead horse?

LOL... well... if the dead horse is PSU.... then I guess it is worth a few more kicks.

Pepperdine didn't seem to have much trouble with the Dukes, though. Using the "always highly reliable" transitive property , the Waves would drown the nits by about 40.

Milwaukee, which is a decent Horizon team like Detroit, just took Duquesne to ot before losing. So, if you figure that Milwaukee, Detroit, and Duquesne are all about the same, Detroit is 26 points better than Ped St. which means Pitt is 42 points better than the Nits.

The Nits lost to Radford tonight. Watched the game and Radford is significanty better. A Big South team has better players at 4 of 5 starting positions.

Man. It's going to be a rough season for Pitt if PSU is having this much trouble.

Remember, though, Radford did beat Georgetown too. Two big wins (upsets) for them already this year.

What you watch in your free time is up to you. I watched several minutes, and yes Radford does have a fair amount of talent. But Penn State is so bad that them vs. any team with even mediocre talent is a hard game to watch for me. Chambers is just a bad coach. How he convinced recruits to start going there is the biggest mystery in the world to me.
