Looks like msu needs Narduzzi

When people talk about 3 stars vs 5 stars they need to watch games like these. Alabama has 300 pound linemen running faster than Michigan states linebackers. Derrick Henry is 25 pounds heavier than bullough.

They are getting ripped through the air, Narduzzis strength
Ummmmmm....the problem has been more the MSU offense. They have been absolutely manhandled and haven't been able to sustain a single possession. And personnel wise MSU was never any match for these guys especially in the secondary, no matter who was calling the D.

Bama is a monster. 11 future NFL starters on that D. It's not even fair.

Haha td the pitt fan at it again how did I know td/lion would comment negatively

Michigan St is playing a team out of their league, literally and figuratively.

Keep in mind that it took a fluke win vs Michigan for the Spartans to get here. Their record overstates what they are. When they are clicking, they are easily the best team. If they turn the ball over, Clemson has enough material to stay close. Michigan St. doesn't, and Bama would have smashed Oklahoma as well. Ohio St. wouldn't have beaten Bama either, but they'd have given them a better game than this.

I didn't see the first quarter, but MSU's offense was totally predictable and unimaginative. Not that I think it would have been successful, but some trickery at least should have been attempted. When you are getting physically beat, you have to try something different, and they had a few weeks to prepare for it.

The best of the big 10 gets a lesson in big boy football 101
And next year the ACC's beat will get the privilege.

You're absolutely right. Nobody can line up toe to toe in a pro set against Bama and have any chance. Surprised Dantonio and Warner didn't take some chances early. By the time they started throwing on 1st down the game was over and Bama knew it was coming. You just can't play Bama straight up, their personnel are too superior. That goes for anyone, not just MSU.

who would have thunk it, the first year without Narduzzi, Dantonio goes further than he's ever been.

personally I'm not a big fan of their offensive style, the big 10 boring football.

Well then you're not a big fan of Pitt's offensive style, because it's the same thing.

I tend to agree with you though. I'd prefer to see a more up-tempo, dynamic scheme. Gives you a better chance against teams with superior personnel. That said, Narduzzi has made it clear publicly that he wants to copycat MSU in all phases, so I guess we'd better get used to it.

Looks like they need to recruit better players. I didn't see anything wrong with the defensive schemes last night (pretty standard). They were just outmanned.

Breeze, that is the problem with that scheme, especially of offense, you have to have superior talent at almost all positions.

Up tempo teams can create mismatches and pull off upsets with less overall talent, happens every Saturday.

Wow Michigan state got flat out embarrassed as did Iowa and northwestern. Not even remotely close.

Pretty much looks like the big 10 is Ohio state and Michigan and no one else again.

They definitely missed Narduzzi alot!!! Same schemes same players but didn't have his intensity there to pump them up like they had in years past

AL wins big regardless MSU needed some of AL players not our coach!

Michigan State - solid program that knows how to pull out victories
Alabama - full recruiting classes of 4 and 5 stars and also the best or near the best coach in America

Recruiting is somewhat overrated in just building a winning program. You will not win a national championship without top end athletes though. It's the difference between being a great team and the best team.

MSU defense had the same problem Pitt's defense had: if they can't get to the quarterback, there is nothing much the pass defense could do. They were just outgunned.

Dantonio has to step up his game on signing day.
Have you seen MSU's class this year? And there's a couple more very big fish expected yet. Last year was no joke either.

That's what consistent winning does for recruiting.

MSU needs James Franklin, no? I mean, Franklin is awesome around signing day. It's just that Saturdays are super tough for him.

Actually, he's not. I haven't seen Franklin pulling in Top 5 classes. He's doing okay recruiting, but certainly nothing special.
