oh I did. UMPc has ample PPE and is ready for a surge but dint think it’s needed. Your hospital is not managed well and is struggling with PPE

If by chance your part of either then you’ve been lying

We are preparing for a surge that we hope will never arrive, but we’re ready for the worst,” Dr. Don Yealy of UPMC’s Department of Emergency Medicine said.

Despite dozens of anonymous emails KDKA has received from nurses and staff saying personal protective equipment such as N95 masks and gloves are in short supply, both UPMC and AHN say they have ample.

“Some believe we are short on supplies. Let me emphasize, we are not short on protective supplies. Any employee who can’t find the protective equipment they want immediately, have the ability to talk to a supervisor and get the equipment necessary,”

Again, the media, in this case the local media, gets it wrong. What else is new? You can't believe a word they utter about anything.

hint - my hospital is included in that (AHN )

    Keep trying though

the concern isn’t today it’s for a month from now when the cases explode

it’s also why elective pecsdures are being cancelled
    To preserve the ppe supply

    You keep trying though
    Eventually you’ll get me!

You don’t seem to grasp this concept

the concern isn’t now - it’s for a month from now if a surge happens

and I can say - regardless of what hospital executives say in the press , there is concern within hospitals - including upmc ones -because I have plenty of friends working in those hospitals

upmc is forcing down staffing due to lower census , because without elective procedures - patient volumes are low

Conservation of ppe - for items which are supposed to be single use and disposable - is absolutely happening .
And it’s not because of “competent leadership “
It’s because the supply Chains are only allocating a fraction of the orders to replenish the storeroom

Too many managers, especially with this virus, feel that they have the resources for what is current not anticipating the deluge that is about to occur.

Nobody and I mean nobody stockpiles for anticipating a pandemic -
Not even the government and public resources dedicated to that goal
    Why ?
Because after 10 years of just throwing away supplies- they start scaling back

Understandable. But I’m thinking that after we get through this, and hopefully soon, there are many likely other new viruses that we will encounter. With the killing and eating these exotic animals will new viruses occur in our near future?

Despite all your deflection UPMC says they are prepared for the surge and have plenty of PPE. You previously said your hospital was overwhelmed and was not prepared. More word salad from the master word salad master

Yes, but his hospital would have been prepared if Trump would have told them to be a couple months earlier.....because his hospital can’t think on it’s own.

    It’s not what I said

Hot spot hospitals are overwhelmed and under supplied

acknowledging the truth and flaws isn’t anything Other than discussing the real issues on the ground .

As usual you’re too busy Playing gotcha to actually read what’s written - so you invent things to argue against

but wait....that is your biggest beef with the way this was handled but you admit yourself that stockpiling supplies is a waste.

    more double talk

    Let’s put it another way
Philadelphia is about to see a surge as cases are escalating

there is an empty 500 bed critical care hospital in the middle of the city which was closed in the past year (haneman) because it wasn’t profitable enough .

Now the owner says he’ll only reopen if the city pays him $1mil per month .

that’s a flawed ass health care system

that again goes against what you posted. neccesity vs demand. why do you think it closed genius? the hospital decided it had made enoigh money and it was time to invest in a cell phone store chain?

How would anyone know what specifically would need to be stockpiled for the next unknown? You are suggesting that everything should be stockpiled just in case. That's irrational.

Some things should be stockpiled to account for surges in need, but not for the worst-case scenario.
