Always find them interesting. Here was today's:

Kent State threw a 65 yard pass. Their receiver got flagged for a face mask and our guy got hit for a horse collar. So the fouls offset, they brought it back 65 yards, and the play effectively never happened.

If the only foul had been the face mask, they would have only brought it back 15 yards, netting KSU 50 yards, correct?

Makes me wonder if it'd be a smart move if a team has a big gain and gets a holding call downfield to immediately grab a face mask so you can negate the entire play rather than only brining it back ten yards from the hold. Am I thinking about this correctly?
