I thought Pitt traveled a fine amount of people for midweek day game in the cold. The entire third base side was almost all full.

That said, games like yesterday are why we don't get more for home games and a lot of fans/alumni refuse to get invested and involved. They're always waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it usually does. Until that stops, until the fumbling away games against average teams stops, I would stop wondering where all of the fans are.

Let's see what our fans do when there is ACTUAL travel. Not when you can drive or take a bus. Hopefully Narduzzi can get this program to a real bowl game.

You realize the fans didn't travel to drivable games in Charlotte and Detroit, right?

Pitt has played exciting and hard nosed football these last two years, giving maximum effort. If you are a true fan of a team isn't that all you can ask for? I would definitely go see all of Pitt's home games if I lived closer to Pittsburgh, Narduzzi is clearly Pitt's best coach in several decades. Pitt is not far away from being a national title contender, just wish we had better fan support at our home games. But I guess when competing with the Steelers and Penguins etc. etc. it isn't easy

I feel bad for James Conner as this had to be as anti-climatic as could have happened for his last game as a Panther. But then again the seniors had opportunities to make plays that they normally make & did not. Orndoff probably had his worst game, Peterman was not sharp & that endzone pick was inexcusable, James himself bobbled the handoff to the point where he could not reach the ball over the goal line, etc.
There were plays out there that seniors should make to win games yet given all that went wrong our players did not step up when given the opportunity.
Players make plays that win or lose games. Let's be honest this great senior class of high character kid's did not play their best game in their last game as Pitt Panther football players. And that is very unfortunate & sad.

H2 PITT !!!

You honestly think New York is an easier drive than Charlotte or Detroit?
Detroit probably is easier from Pittsburgh, now that you mention it. Though we'll agree that that one is a crappy bowl.
I'm thinking it's closer than Charlotte.
Plus, NYC would be easier for alums in the eastern part of the state.

Although New York is a shorter drive than Charlotte the parking and traffic situation probably makes Charlotte an easier drive.

Yes, NYC isn't exactly an easy trip given the traffic nightmares and the cost of lodging nearby. Besides, the drive to Charlotte is only 30 minutes farther from Pittsburgh than NYC, not factoring in NYC traffic.

NYC is a great trip for those that want to make a mini vacation out of it but not so good for those of us who don't stick around. Was still a great trip though, even with the loss and 14 hour round trip drive.

Don't you know the official narrative spouted by the loser social media lacky's of the Athletic Department? "It's the fans fault".

Believe it or not, the Pinstripe Bowl required actual travel and it was actually a bowl game. It was actually awesome. A night in NYC and the game in Yankee Stadium, it was a darn cool experience. Not quite sure what qualifies as "actual travel" and a "real bowl game" for you because the one I attended yesterday was both.

My wife and I went and were very excited to see so many Pitt fans. It was encouraging to see so many fans went to the game. Unfortunately, I fear that playing poorly in 2 straight bowl games (where turnout for both was good) will turn people off and lead to a drop in excitement/attendance for whatever bowl Pitt goes to next time.

Barnes did a great job in ridding Pitt of the tag " Pitt doesn't travel well" I always the actual fan base maybe 30K tops rivals any fan base in the country as far as loyalty and willingness to travel. We just don't have enough fans. But the fans we do have are hardcore. Even the aholes. ( you know who you are )
