On the perimeter, Pitino starts 3 'guards', with

Lee: 6'6" and 200, 16.1 PPG, 472 FG% and 364 3P%
Lewis: 6'2" and 190, 13.4 PPG, 442 FG% and 392 3P%

and one of:

Snider: 6'1" and 180, 9.9 PPG, 420 FG% and 420 3P%
or Mitchell: 6'3" and 210, 7.8 PPG, 455 FG% and 243 3P%

The question here, is how will Dixon handle this with his man to man D?

Usually James Robinson gets the player who is the most profound 3ball shooter, and gets to run around all over the court keeping up with him and taking away the shot (like Adam Smith), and this means Sterling Smith gets to try to cover the guy who is more dangerous at taking it to the hoop.

Against GT, their PG was a non-scorer so Dixon had Artis cover him and Robinson drew Smith and Sterling Smith got to cover Georges-Hunt, who was more like a SF (6'5" and 214). (Yeah, Adam Smith went off against us for 30 but most of that was late when Dixon put players other than Robinson on him).

The problem with Ville, is they don't have any non-scorers starting on their perimeter.

Between Lee and Lewis, they both take 48% of their shots as 3balls, but Lee has gone to the line 73 times and Lewis just 44.

So, the guess here is Dixon puts Robinson on Lewis, and Smith gets to cover Lee, and will have a 2 inch height disadvantage. Jones will be the other player covering Lee and will not be at a height disadvantage.

Artis, gets to cover whomever else is out there. Yeah, if any of them are too quick for Jamel then Dixon will have to make a change. Also, opposing players sometimes shoot 3balls right over Jamel... he usually covers the drives pretty well by playing off the player a bit... but if the 3balls start flying then that would not be good.

Guess we will see this evening but that is the coverage I expect based on what we have seen lately.

Yeah... the goal is to force Ville into a half-court game where they are not at their best.
