I think recruits will love this kind of stuff.

Harbaugh is quickly becoming one of my favorite coaches. He is a recruiting machine and a damn good coach. I've heard that he was a supurb, innovative recruiter at Stanford, but for whatever reason, we just never seemed to hear a lot about it.

He totally gets it... The #1 rule of college football: Do everything in your power to never have to step on the field with less talent and firepower than your opponent. He doesn't just settle on some 3-star kid because he's easy to recruit and have the pride to think he can coach him up.

I hope he stays in the college game a long time.

Don't cha think you would have gotten a bigger rise on the osu or psu board.? I think he's a dick.

He didn't leave many friends behind at Stanford and San Fran.

His former players think he is a lunatic....seriously. He is never satisfied and it wears on you after a while. Always complains about everything the players do, that's why I don't think he will last very long at one place. Maybe a little longer since he went to Michigan, but he is a whacko.

Michigan is my second favorite team. So that is great, especially cause I hate PSU and OSU.

But TD, don't you think Narduzzi is starting to prove out as a great recruiter also? Some of the things he is doing, we have not seen, not even under Wanny.

Harbaugh will make the playoffs in the NFL before he makes the playoffs in college.

This gig at Michigan is nothing more than a placeholder.

What he left behind at Stanford was a top 10 program with a great successor coach that he hand picked from his own staff. Not bad considering that what he inherited when he got there was one of the worst P5 teams in the country, which our very own WLAT helped to run into the ground.

he has a lifetime appointment at Michigan, he will be there as long as he wants to be. The people he rubs the wrong way will mostly be MSU and OSU fans, players and coaches, which just makes him even more popular here in Michigan, where there are probably 4 Michigan fans for every MSU fan.

he is quirky, eccentric, and driven to compete and win, but he's not this flaming a$$hole that many of you seem to think.

As a Pitt and MSU fan, I'd love to see the guy fail and flame out at UM. But that's not gonna happen. Harbaugh won't let that happen. Big things in store for that program.

I guess it depends upon your perspective. First, Flair is well known to be from North Carolina and has nothing to do with Michigan football so I don't see the connection. If this was UNC maybe I'd understand it more.

Second, I'm guessing that if Narduzzi had invited Kurt Angle to Pitt's signing day he would be getting ridiculed. Can you imagine how apoplectic this board would be if Franklin had a pro wrestler coming to the Pedo Valley event?

Third, if the coach wants to do a "pro Wrestling thing" at the signing event then how about some Bella twins or Kelly Kelly? Now we're talkin!!

You forget when James had the PSU Marching Band play the fight song everytime the signed commitment came in. Hey it's a gimmick but we are talking about it so it worked.

In one year, he now has a Pipeline of Recruits going from Maryland to Michigan. Harbaugh's own Previous Defensive Coordinator Durkin took the Head Coaching Job at Maryland, and Harbaugh goes right in and takes away some of the Best Recruit Commits at Maryland from his own prior DC?

Ohio State's Meyer follows right in too and grabs the other ones, and Maryland! Maryland used to be the Backyard of Penn State Recruiting as Larry Johnson turns the 4 Star Recruits to Ohio State as James Franklin that used to coach in Maryland now Gas Tank is on Empty?

Now Harbaugh Plans to set up an NCAA & NFL Coaching Clinic for High School Coaches with his Brother that coaches the Baltimore Ravens.

Both will have Under Armor Owner & University of Maryland Alumnus most likely sponsoring the Coaching clinics to make contact with High School and Colleges!

Somehow I am sure University of Maryland President Loh did not expect this happen when he left the ACC to join the Big Ten!

I'm not saying he will get fired. I'm saying don't be shocked if he is not their coach in 5 or 6 years. He's never been anywhere longer than 4 years. I said he may stay longer since Michigan is his alma mater, but he runs himself into the ground. Also, people tend to not like him after a while. He's a goofball.

I work with a woman whose family grew up with the Harbaughs. In fact, Jim is named after her father, who was the town doctor. She also lives in the Bay Area, so she has kept in touch with the family. She agrees he is goof.

There's not doubt he is a really good coach. He just demands perfection, which is impossible, and that can have a bad affect on players after a while.

Great Family of Coaches it is as simple as that, and they win wherever they go, Jack Harbaugh was an Assistant Coach at Pitt in 1987-88. He taught John and Jim all about Coaching!

So are you switching your allegiance from Franklin and PSU to Harbaugh and Michigan?

Michigan is my second favorite team. So that is great, especially cause I hate PSU and OSU.

But TD, don't you think Narduzzi is starting to prove out as a great recruiter also? Some of the things he is doing, we have not seen, not even under Wanny.

Well, if being a Pitt football fan has taught me anything over the years, its to approach all optimism with extreme caution, perhaps even skepticism. But honestly, yes I do think he is starting to prove to be a very good recruiter. I feel much more confident in Narduzzi as a recruiter now than I did several months ago. I also think it will only get better from here, as he has more time to establish relationships and get in on some of the younger kids. (there is probably a Sandusky joke teed up there for somebody)

Recruiting is the thing that disappointed me the most during the Wannstedt era. He never really could get things rolling like I thought he would. I can't help but think a lot of that is on the administration and support. He was known as a great recruiter at the U, USC, and OKST. He did okay here, but it still left a lot to be desired. ...The one thing that makes me think some of that is on the administration, is that Wanny basically said that Pitt wouldn't be recruiting Florida about 4 years into his tenure. That made absolutely zero sense considering the success Pitt had recruiting Florida under both his watch and also Walt Harris. Really, a lot of other teams from the old Big East signed some really good players from the Sunshine state. He also had ties there. Wanny might not be the brightest light on the block, but he isn't stupid.

So are you switching your allegiance from Franklin and PSU to Harbaugh and Michigan?

I have no allegiance to either of them. I'm just a fan of both of them. I think Franklin is a really nice guy and a lot better coach than many on here want to give him credit for. I think Harbaugh is a freaking stud & there is only one other coach in college football that I would want in charge of my program.

I agree with badbys response to this.

Let's fire Harbaugh and hire Tomsula. Sounds like a page ripped off from Stevie P.

Which do you have him ahead of, Meyer or Saban?

I have those two 1 and 2 respectively. Edge to Meyer because of his incredible success at every single program he's run. Because as far as I'm concerned, Harby is a distant tie for third (along with Dantonio) to those two until he gets a NC or three under his belt.

Hoke did.

In fact, I remember Michigan getting a verbal before Hoke was even hired. There was no coach and a player committed to them.
Hoke wasn't a monkey. he was more of a silverback gorilla.

And the issue at Michigan has never been talent, they have always done very well there with a few leaner than usual years while Rich Rod alienated the recruiting base and everyone else associated with the program,.

The issue has been who's directing the talent. Hoke was a putz. Harbaugh is a beast. Michigan is likely to reach new program heights under Harby. It's a matter of time, and not much time, until Michigan wins their division and gets into the playoff.

Saban. Although you make a great point about Meyer. People tend to forget his work at Utah and Bowling Green.

I give Saban the nod because of his ability to sustain such a high level, and he also did great job turning Michigan State and LSU around. Meyer really let Florida erode his last couple of years in Gainesville. I think Saban does a better job at squashing some of the chemistry issues that Meyer seems to let fester.

Those 3 are in a class by themselves, imo.
