LSU Head Coach For Next Season

Do you think James franklin is calling LSU saying 'hey if you need my help in finding a candidate let me know wink wink"

They are firing miles now to get Herman that's the play.

If he says no watch out for orgeron or even a huge play for freeze. He has shown the ability to beat Alabama something lsu wants desperately

we had a discussion last year on this board about which teams our current coach could bolt to if a job opened, I do remember a poster stating LSU. They certainly have the talent to play the type of football he likes, on both sides of the ball.

Uh oh is all I can say

Narduzzi's safe for the foreseeable future. If he ever manages to accomplish and sustain any modest success at Pitt that may change. At the moment he seems like the same ole, same ole. Right now MSU would be the only major, Top 25 program that would be interested-and only if Dantonio unexpectedly retired. Just as with Chryst and Wisky-that's the only major program that would have had PC after his 3 years at Pitt because he was plug and play there as Duzzi would be at MSU.

Jimbo Fisher, Herman, Outside Chance of Todd Graham if the top choices decline.

Wouldn't be shocked if they look at Fedora, if a few top choices say no. He's coached in the SEC (asst at Florida) and he's been a head coach at Sourhern Miss. (He knows the area).

They can't afford to mess this one up as the big money boosters are very restless down there. Has to be a sure thing. Fedora would be far from a sure thing to succeed there.

They will back up the Brinks truck to get Hermann. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a run at David Shaw, but I see him as a guy who would only leave Stanford for the NFL, and I could see him making that jump at the end of this year. Petrino may be on the list for LSU as well. He has SEC experience, runs the kind of dynamic offense they have been lacking down there under Miles, and is a proven ass kicker of the first order.

Why does anyone, unless you are a graduate of Pitt, dare root for this team ? Many schools have fans that cheer for them, even though they didn't attend the school, Pitt included, but why?

Other schools that have subway fans, are schools that try to win, take other coaches, pay big money to try and win, and Pitt is the school that loses their coaches, doesn't give full efforts to win, or is a destination job, so why does anyone with a mind in their head, think we will ever be on top again, we wont, actually set up not to be, sad but that our reality!

I do believe Pitt is more and can be more , and expect more , but maybe I'm just out of touch these days

It hasn't always been that way.

he hasn't left yet, but I think he has more respect nationally than some on this thread believe. But yeah the Houston coach has his team in the Top 10 so he is probably the top target for everyone.

Fedora is a Texas guy, look for him at one of those schools. Baylor is currently open.

Narduzzi is 3-6 in his last 9 games against P5 teams. I think we are safe

Honestly we both know Narduzzi's system would work a lot better with a defense as talented as LSU's versus a defense with our talent. But hopefully he stays with us

I'm not saying it wouldn't. I'm just saying LSU has it's sites set on bigger fish than Narduzzi right now. I'd be more concerned if this was year 4 and Narduzzi had proven himself

Correct answer

Narduzzi WILL prove himself....which is precisely why he is soon headed to notre dame.....

Jimbo and Petrino the first 2 I thought of.

Narduzzi isn't going anywhere at the moment unless Dantoni has a medical episode or something. No way ND would dump Kelly for Pat freaking Narduzzi, it ain't happening.

Contrary to what Steel said Kelly is in no danger. If Kelly moves on I always thought Chris Petersen was an ND type of guy. They would be lucky to have him.

Pitt is never going to be a blue blood again. Pitt can be like Iowa, having good competitive teams, even finishing in the Top10 occasionally, but we're never going to be a Top10 team year in and year out. We don't have the type of support that the big state schools have. That support equals lots of money. It's the dreaded "structural advantage", which is the reason I wanted no part of the Big10 for Pitt. When Majors and Sherrill built Pitt into a power, Pennsylvania was probably battling Ohio for third place as one of the states with the most talent, trailing only California and Florida. I'm not sure Pennsylvania is in the top 10 today. Also, at a time when the SEC schools barely had a toe in the water, as far as recruting black players, Pitt was able to go into the South, and scoop up elite players with ease. Not happening today. Miami, and USC, schools dealing with some of the same structural issues as Pitt, are struggling, despite being in areas loaded with talent. How many non local kids are going to come to Pitt after taking a visit to Alabama, or Ohio St., and seeing the crazy facilities, and 100,000 maniacs in the stands on Saturday? It is what it is. I still enjoy Pitt football, even if we're not Bama, or Ohio St.

I think the Tier 1 candidates will be Herman, Petrino, and Fisher. Kiffin and Briles after that.

I think its ridiculous for a coach to put on a dog and pony show for a year or two at a smaller school to rehab the image before landing a gig at a P5 again. Just hire the man already if that's the guy you want as coach.

Put down the crack pipe.

Then PAY HIM DOUBLE what LSU offers if you're serious about winning. Sell a hospital to get the money if you need to.

If someone wants DUZZ, and they would pay him double what he makes now, Pitt will not match, even if he was winning big , they won't match. Face it, we talk and have talked about the spending we do now, but we are still bottom half of the league, 10 years behind , get what you pay for , we should have learned this by now. Thirty years later and we still haven't learned. Oh well...
