Add Oregon State to the list of programs that have been to as many Elite 8’s as Pitt made during its heyday 🙄
Picked 12th in the preseason PAC-12 poll. Why can’t Pitt some day have a flukey season like that? South Carolina too - final 4 appearance as a 7 seed. And don’t get me started on Syracuse, UConn.
The last bit of tournament excitement I had for Pitt was after their blow out win over Colorado as a 9 seed getting a crack at Florida... I foolishly thought hey, maybe it’ll be a year they’re not some top 4 seed that they make a run?
Question: Can Oregon State, or any power conference school, be considered a “Cinderella?” Would you consider it more to do with the school or the seed?
I would consider Oregon State more of a cinderella than a small school team with prior success like Loyola or Creighton.
Yeah Oregon State hadn't won a single tournament game since 1981 I believe. That's a Cinderella team.

As a point of reference, and you are free to asterisk it, but OSU Beavers have matched the best JD ever did at Pitt.
