Are we the top 10 seed? Looking at his seed list it looks like he just goes E-S-MW-W and we are listed first.Palm has Pitt as the top 10 seed - just updated https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/bracketology/
Yeah you’re right - it’s not clear. The only thing we can say for sure is that Pitt is ahead of the 6 eleven seeds. vT stealing a bid also hurt Wake last year. Right now there’s only 5 ACC teams in his field with UNC and Clemson on the bubble. Are we the top 10 seed? Looking at his seed list it looks like he just goes E-S-MW-W and we are listed first.
I still have no clue how NW is a 6 seed after yesterday lol. How can you look at them and PSU or them and Wisconsin and say there are 6/7 lines of seed difference.
Pitt still seems fairly safe on these brackets, but our profile, if we lose out, looks identical to Wake last year (5th place ACC, same number of Q1/Q2 wins) and they didn’t make. Maybe the bubble is worse? I don’t know. It would be close.
That puts us 6 spots above Dayton.Palm has Pitt as the top 10 seed - just updated https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/bracketology/
Pitt isn’t listed as one of the bubble teams on his page today. They look like they are the highest 10 seed as of now and still safely in the tournament. Will that change on Saturday if they lose at Miami?? I personally don’t think it should but we shall see. It’s still a joke that Palm and others are talking about Pitt being a bubble team. They have done enough in my opinion to get in.
Purdue is the big one, and UCLA.Root for non-bubble teams, I guess? Stealing from @UPitt '89
Illinois vs. Michigan - root for Illinois.
Minnesota vs. Rutgers - go Minny.
Purdue vs. Wisky - go Purdue.
ASU vs. UCLA - go Bruins. Still can't believe ASU's half court heave vs. U of A.
SMU vs. Memphis - go SMU.
Arizona vs. USC - go Wildcats.
NW is a bad comparison. They have a decent road record of 6-5 and 11-10 quad 1/2 without any quad 3/4 losses. Most seeds 1-9 have at most one quad 3 loss. TCU may be only with a quad 4, but high seeds don’t lose to bad teams, let alone twice. Kentucky has 3 bad losses but now 11-7 quad 1/2. Pitt is lucky. Are we the top 10 seed? Looking at his seed list it looks like he just goes E-S-MW-W and we are listed first.

Yeah I’ve been checking bracket matrix all day to see what they say. Don’t put too much stock into any one bracketologistSpot checking brackets from bracketmatrix (which hasn’t updated today) shows a drop of 1 seed line from 9-10, 10-11 and 11 to last 4 in or out.
Got what we needed. 👍👍Purdue is the big one, and UCLA.
Need those teams to win.
Wisconsin and AZ St now probably can’t pass Pitt without fairly deep runs in their conference tournaments, Michigan same thing. Spectacular bubble night for Pitt. Teams behind them all lost and missed shots at big wins that will be hard to get back, and Rutgers, who was probably, maybe, a hair above us, lost to Minnesota in a worse loss than ours at ND. Things could have been pretty bleak right now, and all of a sudden Pitt once again feels fairly safe.In 13 of 25 brackets updated today, Pitt is an 11 seed. Pitt is 8 in one, 9 in one and 10 in ten. Arizona State and Wisconsin are clearly the last 2 in. But there are 8 teams just above that are very closely bunched (Pitt, NC State, Auburn, USC, Memphis, WVU, Nevada, Miss State). Other teams (UNC, Clemson, Michigan) aren’t showing up yet.
So while Pitt seems safe, they are very close to the cliff.
We need UCLA to beat Arizona State and Purdue to beat Wisconsin tonight. Both games are 4 points at the half.
Illinois beat Michigan by 4 in OT and Rutgers (18-12) lost to 8 win Minnesota 75-74. Rutgers is just ahead of Pitt in the latest projections.
Yeah was a good night. Arizona up 9 on USC late in first half also.Wisconsin and AZ St now probably can’t pass Pitt without fairly deep runs in their conference tournaments, Michigan same thing. These guys are con artists, they don't know any more than most of us.Who cares - heard the guy on The Fan and he was talking in circles - didn't give me the impression that he's dialed in to what's really going to happen.
EXACTLY!!These guys are con artists, they don't know any more than most of us.
