Went to Moe game Friday night.

My observations:

*Runs like a deer...very effortless.
* 6'4" 210 very much looks the part
*Started out inconsistent....Remember first Varsity start.
*Throws it about 50 yards in warmups flat-footed....Kinda showing off his arm
*Threw a deep post TD and had some nice touch passes in 2nd quarter.
*Looks like he has a TON of potential.
*Early 3rd qtr he goes down on run up the middle and I though he was done for the year as the Reds/Bengals Ortho Tim Kremchek was examining his left knee and the kid was distraught.
*Found out Sat that it is a strain and only going to miss 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for the update. Fingers crossed.

A lot of his game includes running the ball, as he's a major threat with his legs. However, like his first game, he will take a beating running the ball 15+ times each game. Hopefully he comes back strong and continues the strong start to his senior year.

thanks for the update. He's raw at the qb position so the best thing is going to be game experience. the injury doesn't help things.

Yes, and the longer he is out the longer he is not impressing outher schools. "Lol"

Exactly. The kid has the same size and physical tools as Rothliesburger, who also was under-recruited due to not starting until late in his HS career. Actually, McV is faster. If he has a fantastic year at Moeller, OSU and others will be jumping in with offers. I think he is solid with Chaney and Pitt, but the less he shines on the field before signing day, the better chance we have of keeping him.
Game experience is of course helpful, but really, a few games of high school experience won't mean all that much in 3-4 years when he is competing for the starting job at Pitt.

If he continues his play, he should end the year as a 4 Star!

I suspect that getting the experience of taking snaps and making decisions in HS games is pretty important for a QB. We had Kevin Smith, or example, who had good size and mobility and a strong arm but struggled in college after not playing much in HS. I think there have been others in the same boat.

I'd like to see McVittie stay healthy and play the rest of the year - he seems to have a good connection with Coach Chaney.

Go Pitt.
