Not sure why you guys are so offended. except for like 5 posts total, all in the last week in the game threads, I’ve never trolled on here.
I’m just analyzing how I see the situation and how I hope HL is viewing all of this too.
There were plenty of encouraging things in the beginning of Capel’s tenure and I stood up for him… I’ve stood up for Narduzzi the whole time because he does a lot of things right.
The second something truly positive happens (2022 high impact commit, transfer commit, actually finishing a season strong with wins, actually upgrading his staff, etc) I’ll give him props. I mean I don’t have anything personally against Jeff Capel he’s just done a terrible job here and I’m sick of it. I was at the game yesterday and it’s so damn sad remembering what things were like not too long ago.
I don’t know why people get so upset. We all want the same thing.
My guess is extremely high fever induced dreams.

I never get excited for these early pickups because it seems they don't stick for pitt, bit at the same time I also don't pooh all over it like some seem to. Just indifferent until it gets closer.
Well if we can drive them away surely we can get someone to commit. So someone should start a recruiting thread and send it out to the social media of some uncommitted ‘22 kids. Let’s all make up for us costing Pitt Mintz.

Yeah but I guess my point is I wasn’t really trolling… more just trying to find humor in what has become a depressing hobby (following Pitt basketball).

For you and the others I’ll be positive for the rest of the day. A nice ACC win yesterday and a 4 star commit. Plus we have 5-6 2023-2024s ready to commit. 2025 Final 4 here we come 😁
There is nothing wrong with being negative and objective. Or being down on Capel and his staff, the team, etc for losing games this year...
But I think the one thing to take away from today, is that, Capel is still indeed recruiting and trying, which is what I kept saying over and over again. He landed a good recruit, he needs to land 5 more legit recruits between 2022 and 2023. The work is far from done to mission accomplished on the recruiting front.
But more importantly, all this non sense about Big John leaving was just that, non sense, much like it was with Ithiel Horton and rumors that came out of thin air that he was leaving last year. Some people shouldn't guess or try to guess with things like that.
The staff and the players on the team have not quit.
Hood-Schifino and Mintz verballed early as well, and neither one made it to Pitt. We need 4-5 ACC level players for next year. Does Brush have any good players for next year that they can send to us?
Yeah I mean I think Hugley is back if Capel is back.
I’m a little less convinced Femi is back.
The issue is that you can’t have a two year stretch where Santos is your only HS recruit.
And I’m not sure who we have any shot at in 2022 besides the kid who surfaced the other day (Hall maybe?) who is a project and probably not a P5 player.
You mentioned Buchanan but we’re not even contacting him. That’s fact.

Yea, there are a number of players. Players that are also reclass eligible, like Jaydon Young who can reclass, who is connected with Jaylen Curry.
Fine with me. If they solve their PG, secondary scorer and move Femi to his real position they could position themselves in the top 10 in the ACC provided Hugley comes back.

Barnes is no more committed to Pitt than he was 4 hours ago. The kid has been at a different high school every year. If you think he’s actually “committed” I’m not sure what to tell you.
Idk what you are talking about. Barnes has been a Pitt lean forever. Just nobody really cares/cared because 2023 class is an eternity for our current situation.

He's not a legit Top 150 kid, thats as big of a joke as Shawn Phillips ranked in the Top 150. Unlike most people,
1) I watch the EYBL and peach jam and
2) I have the stats of these players
Nothing wrong with alcohol in moderation, for most people.
It does reek of the classic desperation recruit. That was my first thought when I saw Barnes was class of 23.
Tom Crean pulled one of these out of his ass a week or so ago, right after his Dawgs dropped a game to Gardner-Webb. Crean actually has a couple of top 150 guys committed for 23.
