Marlon Barnes will redshirt freshman year ....

Barnes could have gone mid-major and played a lot. If the kid wants to play at this level and is patient, he could develop into a good player in a couple of years. You RARELY see this type of path anymore. This is a page out of Dixon's book. Redshirted a lot of guys and the team stayed old. Hopefully, Barnes is invested in the program and will wait his turn.

Who besides Gil Brown did Dixon redshirt? I know we tended to have players stick around for 4 years, but I don't recall many Dixon redshirts. Chevy was a Howland RS. Who am I forgetting?

I cant remember them all.

Ed Turner
Levon Kendall
Talib Zanna
Cam Johnson
Durand Johnson
Lamar Patterson
Austin Wallace

So many. Most of these guys played the 1st 10 games and then had a fake injury. I cant believe he got away with that as long as he did but I give him credit for taking advantage of a loophole.
